I can't see the video yet but its good to know you guys got it together now. Considering just the other day you guys was trying to slap fruits like a school girl.

Why are you guys still playing and writing about a game that is barely mediocre by your standards?

Mediocre doesn't mean unplayable, and neither does it mean that people won't have an interest. It's in the best interest of N4G to continue coverage of this game, whether or not they support it enthusiastically, for the benefit of their readers and those casually hunting down information on the game.

A better question is, why do you spend time on a site where you clearly have little respect for the writers and their opinions? Of the two motivations, yours and theirs, only one seems reasonable.

i was in no way not showing any respect.. if you think i wasnt showing him respect cause of the school girl comment, that is what he described him self as when he played the game. he also felt like his man hood was taken or something like that..

i tried to find his review but now that review is just a link to the "guide"..

all i did was question why he is still playing a game that made him question his man hood and compare his experience to a "high school girl slap fight" his words not mine..

if you cant handle a little heat on a review you did that is clearly questionable compared to other reviews then maybe you shouldnt post on n4g.

i respect his opinion all i wanted to know is what makes him go back to a game that made him feel the way he did and giving it a crazy low score. considering im the only one that posted on this, who are you guys trying to reach out to? who on n4g did you think needed a guide from a reviewer that felt about the game the way he did.

i understand you feel you have a duty on n4g, but c'mon a follow up to a game you guys gave a piss poor review to? on n4g? ok....

paladin... excuse me... "boldly mediocre" so tell me... whats the difference between 5.0 and 5.1? do you give that extra point depending on how you feel that day?

Yeah I'm wasting a bubble to correct a type. Jeez. "Cite" not "site." This is what I get for typing this right after waking up from a nap. Ah, well. I do love that someone disagreed with me, but didn't had the stones to explain if it was the "I experienced the same problems every time I played it" part or the "we're free to disagree" part. Silly.

Barely mediocre would be a 5.0 or a 5.1. This game was boldly mediocre! Of course, the content of my review explains my position. I admitted that I had fun with it.

Oh, and there is slapping... Also, fruit shiatzu.

Actually, if you read what I wrote, I said that I'm not a proud man. I had no problem looking like a high school girl in a slap fight. I thought it was hilarious. Hell, I showed the world how silly it looks with that video up there.

As for a "follow up," this "guide" is a joke. I promised the video to our Facebook fans. I thought some people would get a laugh out of some guy on the internet playing a silly game with hilariously bad 80s hair band music behind it.

I didn't give the game a "piss poor" review. I admitted that I had *some* fun with it, but pointed out the areas that I thought it was severely lacking. As for the difference between a 5.0 and a 5.1, I don't know the answer to that question. It seems pretty arbitrary to me, too. Thankfully, I gave the game a 5.8. My reason, as I mentioned in the review comment thread is that I thought the game was a low- to mid- 6.

If the menu implementation weren't so broken, especially the Sensei's Swag menu, it would have received a 6.3. I knocked off half a point because in a game that is as shallow as this is for the price, not being able to accurately choose which mode to play or even use the unlocks because of bad menu implementation is a pretty big deal.

Finally, nothing and I mean *nothing* prevents me as a gamer from playing a game after I review it, regardless of the review score. On the post-review play, all the problems were still there and the bit of fun I found was there, but seriously waning. It was only propped up by the fact that I knew I was on camera.

I stand by my review. We're free to disagree about it. That's fine. No. That's great. If we all liked the same things, the hobby we love would suck.

I'm to the only one that had these problems with the game (there are 7 other reviews on Metacritic that site some or all of the same concerns). Certainly, the game is trending higher than the score I gave it, but our 5s and 6s are (by description) very similar to other sites' 7.

Take a look at the Guidelines on our site. It might help clear things up.

ok... so the video was just for a joke. now it makes sense, thats all i was asking hollygreen. now i know for sure that paladin still feels the same about the game and plays it for other reasons...

now what doesnt make sense is your rating paladin. drop the .1 .2 .3 .4 .6 .7 .8 and .9
just give the game a 5 5.5 or 6 anything else in between that is just.... c'mon...

a 5 0r 6 is just that, it doesnt turn to a 7 when compared to others..

yea im going to have to disagree and like you said its ok... imo the game doesnt deserve lower than a 7.5. the real 7.5 not your 7 by description..

maybe ill check out your site when i see a reasonable review from you. from what i hear you guys are notorious with low reviews, maybe for hits? traffic?

Notorious for low reviews? If you compare us to an IGN or a Gamespot, maybe, but that's because we don't shove most of our reviews into the 7-10 range.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "real 7." Each site has their own scoring guidelines. There is no accuracy in game reviews (using the scientific definition). By this I mean that, unlike measuring distance or mass, there is no absolute definition that can be attributed to subjective scoring. Now, if you want to talk about precision (also, the scientific definition) in which a group of "measurements" conform to the capacity of the device doing the measuring, that's a different story.

Our reviewers are very careful to score their reviews using the guidelines that we have established. This creates a strong comparative basis among our body of reviews (as much as is possible when you have more than one person involved).

I'm not sure where you heard that we give low reviews for hits. That's actually the kind of pseudo-journalistic BS that we hate. Perhaps, you are referring to my recent LIMBO review that departs from the common opinion of the game. That review was written honestly and drew criticism from those that love the game so much that they can't tolerate opinions to the contrary.

That's a pretty significant accusation you've laid out. I encourage you to visit meteoritic and see where our scores lie amongst our peers. I think you'll be surprised.
