Great article, I think the author makes some very strong points.

Generally, he's right, but the general population grading something a 50-60 on Metacritic and you're walking into a shitty game.

Yea, there is a very thin line between a mixed review game and a shitty one, which is why many people don't bother trying many games out.

Was just playin Lair this morning. Still a fun and unique experience. Ppl complained about the controls so they released an analog patch but the game just isnt fun without the sixaxis.

If anyone didnt get this game cuz of reviews I say get it. It's glitchy as heck but the feel of flying and air combat is a unique experience that we prolly wont see again due to it's success. Plus it has some cool take down sequences.
