Halo 2 Auto-update is up

Bungie sends out word about their new auto-update.

"As you know by now, we're just over a week away from unleashing two brand new Halo 2 multiplayer maps upon the world. "Desolation", a remake of the Halo 1 map Derelict, and Tombstone, a remake of the classic "Hang 'em High", are both being released on Xbox Live on Tuesday 4/17. For the bargain price of $4.00 you'll be able to unleash a new can of whoop-ass on these completely re-imagined multiplayer arenas. We'll have a lot more to say (and show) about each of these maps next week as part of our continuing coverage on Bungie.net."

i dont care if it's halo. i think they should release the maps free to say "thanks" for over 2 years of 200,000+ users playing their game... and an outdated "last-gen" version at that.... but that's just my opinion.

i'm not knocking halo, i love the series... more than most people, i just like to keep an open mind.

It was made by a different company btw. Anyways $4 is not that much, if you still like playing Halo 2 then buy these maps, if not then don't buy them ok. Anyways i will be buying these maps as soon as they are out.

Nice pic Bearc.. I know her.. Well figuratively speaking LOL... If you just wait the maps will be free.. Remember the old maps .. They became free after a month.. So ya.. Thsi will be good at least its something new to wet our appetite for halo3

Seriously guys...$4? $4 is nothing. If you're playing this game then you're supposed to be 17+, because of the mature rating. Assuming that you're 17+ years old, you should be able to come up with $4.

A bit of advice, if you can't drum up $4 then GET A JOB!!!

All of this "I WANT IT FREE" crap is ridiculous. Is there any other industry that's just giving away stuff? Please name it. You don't go to the gas station and expect a gallon free, or go to McD's and say "I've bought stuff here before, so where's my free cheeseburger". You people are nuts. We're LUCKY/FORTUNATE that we occasionally get free maps, or a free South Park episode. WE ARE NOT OWED ANYTHING!!!

it's not that $4 is a lot, because it isnt. it's because the game is 2 years old, and the fact that other companies are nickel and diming users via the marketplace has got many people weary of paying for every little thing.

i havent been playing the game much, despite the fact i'm a halo fan. halo 2 got old after a year of non-stop play, and now there are other games taking up my time.

for the record, i have a great job, and i make good enough money for my situation, so money is definitely not an issue. and if you're going to use the gas station as an example, Speedway has that "rewards" card that eventually nets you a free tank of gas. Best Buy also has a "rewards zone," and I believe many other companies do as well... trick is to buy stuff, THEN you get it free. putting it into gaming terms- we bought the game, now we should get a little incentive (especially due to the fact Halo 2 is a last-gen game, and Halo 3, which is costing $50-$130, is right around the corner!)
