Well considering the game has sold near 4 million units on both the Xbox 360 and PC, 30,000 gamers is less that 1% of the fanbase. And half of those 30,000 are bandwagon jumpers who will buy the game anyway. Scratch that, 90% of those 30,000 will buy the game when it's released.

While I'm not sure if most of the 30,000 are PC gamers or not but you have to admit. PC gamers don't take sh!t from developers. Even Microsoft had to bow down to their will (Games for Window). Look at Spores, EA had to give in. PC gamers speak with their wallet. Look at COD4 Map pack, free for PC but $10 for consoles...

The only reason people are upset is because Valve promised us a lot of DLC which they've yet to deliver. They've even said in an interview that L4D will still be supported with content up until the release of L4D2. So this really is a non-issue.

its cuz l4d was lacking in content to begin with, THEN they promised the full SDK where people would be able to create their own stuff. now they announce a sequel to this game? imagine having an NBA game where the only mode u can play is play now, 3 minute games and your limited in the available teams u can use. and the online version of this is to play other people with just those teams and rules. THEN u announce a new game 6-7 months after this game to be released in less than 6 months. how would u feel?

dont get me wrong, i played the hell out of l4d and loved it, got all the achievements, but i also felt the game was lacking content. my interest in the game died after 3 months of non-stop playing campaign and online, even when they released survival mode it didnt bring back the interest i had in it when i first got it. especially since survival has an infinite amount of zombies coming after u and they added a melee cool-down

ill probably end up getting this game depending on whats offered this time around. also depends on how many of my friends buy the game

It's like counter strike, Highly addictive But overly repetitive until the modders got thier hands on it and made skins, maps and mods. But guess what Vavle never charged full price for the newer versions of Counter strike, infact it was free bundled with Half life 2 when the source engine was created, or 20 bucks on steam as a standalone.(CS:S)

Again I say...Valve has a good track record, why don't they get the benefit of the doubt? They've gone ON RECORD saying they'll continue to support the first game. And so what if they don't? By ALL reports, by people who have actually PLAYED the new game, it's actually a significant enough leap over the first one to warrant a whole new game. They can get as many signatures as they want, the game will still be released in November and I know a ton of people that will be getting it.

Most of these boycotters will buy the game?! Uh, you console gamers don't seem to understand PC gamers. L4D2 is not some god-send game, especially in the world of PC FPS. Most of its "new" features can be easily created from mods.

.. and how can you forget L4D2 is releasing in November? Nov-Dec is filled with GREAT line-up this year. There are AT LEAST ten better choices than L4D2. Plus, PC gamers have this power called piracy. They can threaten it to any developer who tries to screw their fanbase. Not that I support it personally, just saying.

Stop comparing it to Madden sales. It's heavily supported by console gamers, not PC. I am sure L4D2 will receive another million supporters from 360, but one thing is for sure, most PC gamers won't go near it. And ya know what? Valve receives more profits from PC version sales. There's no third party involved, and Steam service saves them from manufacturing extra copies.

Valve Support is what made top games like Counter-Strike last for years and still going strong.

Valve is refusing to keep giving the support like it did too all past titles, splitting the comunity in 2 by releasing a mod of current L4D (Which is a gloryfied Zombie Panic Mod).

Look ok, PC gamers have proven time and time again they can mod stuff like crazy, someone WILL make a mod so L4D1 becomes similar to the sequel. Left 4 Dead seemed a little this on content. I have the 360 version and I still play it a bunch and out of respect for a fun game and a very generous and supporting company like Valve, I will buy the sequel. Yes they could have supported the first one since it feels a bit half-assed but everything will be improved for sure.
