Although in a detailed analysis a few differences might be discovered, when you actually play the games the difference is hardly noticeable, if at all.

I play multiplatform games on both of my consoles now (PS3 and 360) and very few games have any differences that are enough to notice unless you are doing a careful analysis (which you aren't doing when you play a game).

It's the same game on either console, in any case.

The problem with third-party games on the PS3 is that none of em take advantage of the PS3s hardware. You're setting your self up for disappointment if you think the best 360 games will look better than the best PS3 games.

I agree, its a rushed job to get it onto another platform to make extra cash. Of course it will sell, because most consumers do not realize how games are developed (main platform > secondary platform(s))and think that they are getting the exact same game. But some developers actually care about their products and make sure the conversion process is nearly identical. If only all publishers could be held to such standards. Then the war would be about exclusives and not third party games.

The fun part of this, is that LoT mentions always "blurry textures" because the PS3 version uses ingame blur, and another thing they hid from their comparison is the FACT that the 360 version of HAWX had a short horizon, the visual field of the PS3 version is vast, but the 360 version is short, sorry if you disagree but you didn't played both versions, just tried to had faith in a page made to defend the 360.

1. Uncharted has the worst screen tearing I've ever seen so maybe they should have taken 4 years.
2. MGS4 is not a game it's a movie so don't bring that up here.
3. GT5 Prologue is a demo not a full game. Having only 2 tracks available does not make it a full game more like a demo. And if you paid $30 for a demo you a sad panda.

So again Killzone 2 could be done on the Xbox 360 with the same amount of dev time. Actually Killzone 2 on the Xbox 360 would look better. That's a fact deal with it.

Uncharted did have some screentearing, but nowhere near as bad as games like Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect. I have all three of those games (three of my favorites by the way) and there is no doubt Uncharted had the least amount of screen tearing between those three.

The screen tearing was really fairly minor and only happened in certain areas. Besides that relatively minor flaw the game blows away almost every other game I have ever played in the graphics department. The only game I have seen that surpasses it in some areas is Killzone 2. That's pretty damn impressive for a game nearly going on its 2nd year.

I buy some of my multiplats on the 360 and some on the PS3. Just depends on the game. If the PS3 gets a particularly bad port I will avoid it in favor of the 360 game, but generally other considerations are far more important to me.

I think it is strange that nobody is even mentioning that the PS3 version has a notable feature that the 360 version lacks. Namely the ability to save gameplay clips to your harddrive and upload them to the internet. I would think this feature might be a bigger determiner of which version a person might get than whether one version looks 5% better.

If they compared exclusives, it becomes even more subjective. There is no doubt in my mind that the PS3 has the better looking exclusives. It's just that in the grand scheme of a gaming library those are a small number.

If you own both systems it is a simple choice. Buy exclusives for both systems and all multi-platform games for the Xbox 360. That's the only way you will be guaranteed to play the games as the developer intended.

I agree to a point. I own both consoles, but I buy some multiplatform games on my PS3. I thought Dead Space looked slightly better on the PS3 and more importantly I like the way it controlled better on the PS3, so that is the console I got it for.

My point is, a small graphical difference is only one of many consideration as to which version of a multiplatform game you decide to purchase. Right now I don't have Xbox Live because my subscription ran out and money is tight. To me both services offer basically the same experience and so a person like me might choose to get a multiplatform game on the PS3 simply because they know they will be able to play the game online no matter what.

It really just depends on what you value.

It's true. A lot of the textures in Gears 2 are poor when you get close to them.

It's funny, I was recently comparing Gears 1 with Gears 2 and I was surprised to find that the textures overall were of a higher resolution in Gears 1 than in Gears 2. Some of the environments are a bit bigger in Gears 2, but the textures took somewhat of a hit.

I think it's funny how we are all arguing about which version of this game looks better. Personally, I do think that the 360 version of the game looked better in the pictures...BUT WHO CARES!!! Are you all seriously going to buy this game anyway? I downloaded the demo on the PSN and guess what? This game sucks. You are all throwing sticks and stones at each other over a game that isn't that great to begin with. I'm also sick and tired of hearing the argument about how exclusive A looks better than exclusive B on competing systems while multiplats take the stage as the end all be all of the console battle royale. There's alot of factors to consider when doing these comparisons..Tv's,what setting they use, and so forth..Anyone can doctor one console to look better then another nowadays.So these comparisons FAIL in my opinion and only fools the weak minded.By reading these posts its the 360 fanbase which isn't surprising.

I'm going to try to be honest here.

x360 - easy developing,boil in the bag type stuff. Runs sloppy code quite well.

PS3 - Harder to develop(FACT)If you listen to Naughty Dog it sounds easy, but they built their engine from scratch for PS3, same with KILLZONE2, GT5 ETC.

But multiplat engines will 99% of the time look better on 360, but not always, Tombraider underworld rapes 360's version by miles, not just res, 360 is sub hd and PS3 has better lighting and is smoother.(FACT)

GTA4 is a tricky one. Ported, yes ported(again fact)from the 360 version. Who rockstar had already completed long before the PS3 version was complete. So this time, 360 has higher rez and AA. But the 360 version still has less shadows and dithering.(fact)

I think graphically they are close in some ways and faraway in others.

Does uncharted spank gears 1&2, yes it does. Not only in textures,animations,but also in lighting,shadows,poly counts.

Are both fun to play - YES.

I'm sick and tired of people confused with graphics and gameplay, or so it seems half the time.

Do i want my graphics to look good - yes. But not at the expense of gameplay should be everygamers answer.

Do i think that hawx is a poorly done port - YES.

Reason, you could stream massive amounts of texture data from the Blu-ray, yet they've got an install going and still fudged it up. Also 360 guys, you've goto remember, the more you use that DVD drive, the more likely it will break, my dvd burner is on it's way out. They just do. But i'd rather my blu-ray drive last longer.

Heck IBM ran a program on PS3 just to do real world landscapes from satellite data and it didn't even use the RSX.

I think the GPU inside the 360 is excellent and x2,x4 is as well.

What i don't like about the 360, is some of the games, and hardware troubles,also i do not pay for online after i've already paid my isp.

And please do not mention GRID and GT5P in the same sentence, i did awhile ago before i played GT5P. I'll explain.

GRID is an arcade racer with decent damage, driving model inside the car is twitchy, outside view is pretty good.

GT5/P is a Sim, Plain and simple. Do Physics play a part, of course they do, and from what i've read at many places, damage is incoming.

Now GT5P inside the CAR is perfection. The drive model is completely accurate. and feels as such. The outside model is worse the GRIDS. It's too stiff for my liking. I completed GT5P and was one of the most enjoyable while hard in places racing game i've ever played.

it has been proven again and again its not the systems fault, its the devs fault for doing a poor job porting the game, why argue about who has the better graphics for 1 little multiplat whden its clear both sysytems are capable of much better graphics?
