Capcom's Recent Trademarks Hint At Classic Resident Evil Remake

Capcom has applied for the registration of two trademarks rising speculation of a possible remake of new-gen Resident Evil games.

Does this surprise anyone lol? It's pretty much known they're basically remaking the entire series at this point. Not that I'm complaining; Res2 remake is easily one of the best remakes ever put out.

myfathersbastard514d ago

No idea why so many downvotes. It’s a fact if not a very widely accepted opinion that the RE2 Remake is the gold standard for remaking old games.

MadLad514d ago

I'm not liked on here because I don't typically go with the N4G flow, so I get downvoted constantly just because my name accompanies my posts.

I'm used to it. It's why I consider the voting system on here a joke.

Orchard514d ago

Agree that RE2 should be the target for every other remake. That thing was just perfection.

@Madlad Yeah you learn to ignore it lol, ultimately votes mean nothing and normally just mean the person doesn’t like you, not that they actually disagree with what you’ve written.

Back on topic, while the RE1 remake holds up well, I would love to see it remade in the style of RE2. For me, RE1 is one of the very few games that never gets old and I can replay all the time - in fact writing this makes me want to play it again :p

Can was PLEASE get Code Veronica???

Orchard514d ago

This too, remake both.

CV didn’t age that well and is hard to access nowadays.

Kurt Russell514d ago

I hope remaking the entire series includes Code Veronica too. The Ashfords were great antagonists, possibly my favourite. It also added loads of law to the series.

TheEnigma313514d ago

I hope the remake RE0. That was a unique direction of the series.

RpgSama514d ago

I hope they both remake and expand on those classic games left, instead of what they did with RE3 where they made a short game shorter, they should take the opportunity to make them bigger.

TheEnigma313514d ago

I'm disappointed in 3. Very rushed.

-Foxtrot514d ago

I’d liked a RE1 remake which references RE0 so they tie into each other a hell of a lot more

TheEnigma313514d ago

RE1 definitely needs another remake. That's my favorite entry after RE2. RE1 had the scariest atmosphere imo. Lack of ammo and lack of open space made it unsettling.

Orchard513d ago

Only if they promise to fix the hookshot and introduce item crates :p

MADGameR514d ago (Edited 514d ago )

They will remake RE1 again, I guarentee it. I hope they remake RE Code Veronica X.

TheEnigma313514d ago

They all will be remade. Capcom isn't gonna pass this by.

CrimsonWing69514d ago

Can you guys just do Code Veronica please?

PaleMoonDeath514d ago

The original REmake for GameCube is still the greatest horror game ever made, if not the greatest remake of all time. Resident Evil 2 is a close second mind you, hoping Resi 5 gets the remake treatment!

Eternal Darkness was way ahead of its time especially for a Nintendo exclusive.

I would love to see a remake or sequel (multiplatform)

Ristul120d ago

When I see Eternal Darkness, I klick!

TheBrainZ120d ago

Not to sound too repetitive but Eternal Darkness all the way!

This Feature Makes Lethal Company Scarier Than Resident Evil

Games like Lethal Company end up scary because of their freeform nature, while Resident Evil's polish and storytelling ultimately make them rather tame in comparison. Agree or disagree?
