DOOM Review - Is This the Doom We're Looking For? | OnlySP

OnlySP: Fans of the DOOM series from id Software have been waiting for the latest entry for what seems like ages.

'Wolfenstein New Order' was my GOTY in 2014 . 'Wolfenstein Old Blood' was my pick for favorite DLC of the year 2015.

The new DOOM game is the best video game i played in like the last 8 years .

Agreed.
The new DOOM has been a spectacular ride for me. I'm about 5 hours in, and just taking my time with it. I absolutely love everything about it. I've mentioned this to all friends and family, but it's the most fun I've had with a shooter in a very long time.

No cover based mechanics, no iron sights, just good ol run, jump and dodge and quick thinking. Such a good time.

Also, the review gives the game a 7/10 for graphics...really?

Make sure you check out our review policy for the scoring rubric. We've recently updated it to better describe what each score means to avoid score inflation. Our numbers don't tell the whole story like other reviews anymore, or at least, that's our hope with our updated rubric.

I'm disappointed so far hopefully they can prove me wrong. I'm only 2 hours in but I haven't liked it yet.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

After watching Scavengers Reign? The answer is unequivocally yes. I really want something out of left field but I think people are too afraid to shake things up.

It's what I love about Shadowrun and Black Mirror. Love, Death, and Robots proved that there's an audience for stuff that doesn't fit the mold.

Weird games in general we don't get enough of, we need more games like Katamari and Mr domino, things like that
