Just keep Persona coming and everything is gonna be ok....

rainslacker2963d ago

Shooting Sonic in the head sounds like fun.

Here's one big reason why it might be bad though:

What if Sega does make a Dreamcast 2? If that rumor is true, all of the Atlus library would become exclusive to their new console. That's good for Sega, but bad for gamers who would have to buy a new system to play Atlus games like Persona.

Man, the 90's must have been very generous to Sega. How do they still afford stuff like this?

donwel2964d ago

They still make ridiculous bank from the Sonic games even though they've been shit for the last decade or so.

_-EDMIX-_2964d ago

lol, they stated they are talking a break from Sonic until they can get better quality.

TheColbertinator2964d ago

Sega is a brand name still influential in Japan. Toys, accesories, phone games and pachinko slots are still big money makers for Sega over there.

Segata2964d ago

They went bankrupt in the 90s and early 2000's had Sammy buy them. Sammy is a huge Pachinko company in Japan. Also Sonic and Yakuza and that Diva series.

Because they did smart moves last gen and the gen before. Being a software company also means they spend no money on hardware anymore.

They only ship titles to the west that actually can make them money, ie why some Yakuzas didn't come to the west. Fans may not like that, but Sega makes money by also not wasting it.

They bought Relic, Creative Assembly and Atlus. Look at Sega's history and you'll see they've been doing some smart moves for some time now, as to why unlike Capcom..they are not seeking to be bought out or anything of the sort.

They are very conservative and because of that, it allowed them to make greater moves in the future.

Capcom going full blown YOLO with their titles didn't leave them banking...

Consider SFV got low sales, they needed Sony to fund, they need Sony to fund parts of Deep Down, MS to market Dead Rising...

That doesn't sound like a publisher doing great ,that sounds like a publisher that over spent last gen and now they are paying for it dearly.

Look up the moves Sega has been doing, Alien Isolation's success, Altus's purchase, Valkrie Chronicles coming to PC and moving like 700k plus units etc.

They've been doing great things and staying Conservative and banking on those Sonic, Yakuza, RTS games lol

They just got a MASSIVE contract with MS to make Halo Wars 2, really ,really look at how well Sega has been doing. Sure, they are not out their like Capcom, but they are also not bleeding money and desperately seeking outside sources to fund their work.

Report: Assassin's Creed Shadows to Require an Internet Connection Even If It's Single-Player Only

Assassin's Creed Shadows digital storefront pages are up, and it confirms the game will require an internet connection, and MTX.

Was sort of interested in this but if it's true it's an easy pass

Terry_B3h ago

as usual..Don't Buy Ubisoft Games.

Skuletor34m ago

One thing that's messed up about this, is there will be people playing pirated versions of this without that restriction, while the paying customers will suffer. Just like how some games will have lower performance on PC due to DRM, while pirated copies don't.

Anyone that wants to say something like "Who doesn't have internet access in this day and age?" There's plenty reasons people won't always have access, such as living in rural areas with spotty coverage, for example.

banger8833m ago

Three single-player games in a row they've done this with now. Those f***ers weren't kidding when they said gamers need to be comfortable with not owning their games. As a physical collector, and somebody who enjoys Ubisoft's open worlds, this is a nightmare scenario for me. Absolute scumbag company.
