Even if I had a 64gb card I couldn't fit everything on it. The proprietary cards piss me off. I know they did it to avoid hacking, but it was kinda stupid. Sorry... rant.

Well the PSP memory cards had multiple competitors making them. Sony is the only one making Vita memory cards thus they are extremely overpriced even when on sale.

That's one of the major issues with the PSVita. I am still using a measly 4GB memory card since launch... Sony dropped the ball, and hard. There's no doubt about that.

There's enough racing games on Vita as it is. Ben 10 is actually an easy Platinum and fun game, needs online though.

Really is a deal breaker for many, me included. That and of course they never released Gran Tursimo Vita. Loved GT on my PSP.

Vita cards are essentially modded Class 4 micro SD cards (4 MB/s read write speed) SD cards that can only be used for Vita. The micro sd equivalent of the vita cards are selling for a fraction of the cost. 16 GB Vita card is $33 while a regular micro SD is $7.50, thats less than a quarter of the price. 32 GB Vita card is $70 while a regular micro sd card is $13, thats less than a fifth of the cost of vita equivalent.

Time for Sony to stop being greedy and bring these prices down to Earth. But since there is no competition for Vita memory cards Sony can do what they want.

I just dont understand what Sony was thinking when it came to the Vita. Its such a great device but it could have been so much better. They should have had built in R2/L2 support or an add-on to make share play even better. But the biggest reason why I have not bought one is because of the lack of major titles to the West. We had so many with the PSP and within the 1st year of the Vita but now its just indies and Japanese games keeping it afloat. Look at the VG charts the top selling games were big games for the Western market but they were released within a year of launch. I mean no NEW or SPIN OFFS of GTA, God of War, Resistance, Last of Us, Metal Gear, Gran Turismo, Motorstorm, Driveclub, Socom, Rachet and Clank, Jak and Dexter, Spyro, and so much more. Look at all of the franchises they could have tapped into for the Vita but yet we got a couple collections of past games for a couple of the titles I listed. You arent going to sell much when you're just selling Japanese games and indies, how many sales do you think the PS4 would have if it was like the Vita? Definitely not 20 million like its doing now.

So there you have it. Overpriced memory cards and lack of major Western titles has crippled the Vita from competing with the 3DS and reaching its full potential. Says alot when I have the original PSP and the 3000 and still use them to this day and have gone nowhere near the Vita even with the price drops and sales.

Your points are all 100% valid. However, I recently bit the bullet and picked up a Vita and I am enjoying it despite the drawbacks. I already owned several ps1 games on my ps3 and a few cross-buy games like Dead Nation, Lone Survivor, and The Unfinished Swan (all indies I know), so it was nice having a lot to play right off the bat.

Still, the lack of western releases is hurting it, and despite how much I am enjoying the system, it certainly feels like a platform that will never achieve its full potential.

I think making more cross buy games with cross save features, more FPS and western RPG's, & cheaper memory cards could revitalize the system a bit, but I fear it's too late.

Sony have had plenty of time to lower the price of storage, they have left it too long for most people who have Vita's to give a crap now.

What they need now is Vita streaming from a PC, because if you can store Vita games on PC, then why not stream from it?

I would even say that the transfer speed between PC and Vita is fast enough for game streaming vs the crap standard Vita storage.

this is just one of the reasons to keep the freaking Price High!
Remember last time with time with PSP and UMD dumps? only last time Sony was not the only company making Memory Sticks, there was also easy to use PC mem Card readers that allowed easy to aquire Game dumps online to put on those Memory stick cards.

This time Sony is the only one making the cards
this time there is no easy to get card reader to hook upto PC
this time the price is staying high to offset more piracy, you want to pirate you are going to have to pay a much higher price
and most of the games releasing are japanese centric consumer because thats where most of the psvita games are being made for release as the main target region for the platform.

Sony went through this very same thing with the PSP, many westrn centric developers and studios refused to make games that were high cost in investment for the PSP, with the cost in man power and investment to make a AAA vita game in time to triangle and costs, it cost as much in man power and cost as it does to make a AAA game for the PSVita as almost as much as a game for the ps3!

and making it that much harder to pirate such software on a low install base is better off than putting off what little number of studios or publishers that still want to keep making software for the PSVita as is.
