But Youkai Watch isn't new. It was released in July. It's just got mad legs.

The next 2 weeks have monster 3DS releases by the names of pheonix wright, final fantasy, ect. Should be a very nice time for 3ds.

Sales tax in Japan jumped 3% as of April 1st. Might have something to do with the jumps. People planning on getting them may have wanted to grab them before the increase?

Why should Xbox One dominate Japan? Xbox was never really successful in Japan and both, Nintendo and Sony are Japanese companies, I bet, they will help their own industry more, than some outside company.

MS secured a few JRPG's last gen too. The japanese people just dont want it. They would have to make games for release only in Japan for there to be any success.

He is speaking somewhat the truth. And then watch what happens to the Wii U numbers in May when Mario Kart 8 hits.

PS4 will do well once the games are there that the Japanese gamers want to play.

oh Mario Kart 8 is gonna slide away with sales. It been on Famitsu Japan Most Wanted Top 3-5 for the year so far each survey.

However I doubt Sony will lose sleep over it.

It has taken a large chunk of the US market back.

In Europe they have the lions share of the market, even in the UK.

Japan will offer a little top up of those number.

And in 2/3 years time with a games library that's more to the Japanese taste and price cut those numbers will have bouts of high sales.

The demand in Japan is not big at the moment hence it's later release.

The demand in Europe and US is high and that is more important ATM.

it depends on what their secret Japanese exclusive is, if its something major like Dragon Quest it could be that it momentarily surpass the PS4 who only has Yakuza Ishin (also available in PS3) as far as Japanese games go...... However I think once Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV launch the PS4 would gain momentum in Japan then more Japanese exclusives would start coming to PS4
