PCGMedia wrote an article dissecting Moore's statement, and have collected user feedback on ways in which EA can improve. Written by the editor, the piece lists 5 reasons EA are a detriment to gaming culture, and then explains how they can improve the problem. The piece aims to be incisive, logical, and non-sensationalist, in hopes of getting to the real meat of the issue.
EA just hosted its quarterly financial conference call, and its executives have been asked to comment about the recent price hikes for games.
Today, Electronic Arts announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2025, alongside the full year.
Split Fiction has sold nearly 4 million copies, and the next battlefield is confirmed for a release by March 2026 with a reveal this Summer.
In addition to the roughly 100 job cuts IGN reported earlier today at Respawn Entertainment, EA has made wider cuts across its organization today, impacting around 300 individuals total including those already reported at Respawn.
Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....
This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.
Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
I got your list right here. Stop finding ways to kill quality franchises, stop with the online passes, stop with the broken DRM, don't release broken products that don't function and most importantly (as well as to sum up) STOP screwing with your customers!
@RogueSmurf
Just read the list myself lol. Yup, they covered the same topics as well (albeit in a different and more informative manner).
I think that one thing EA needs to do is step back and realize that they are one of the few companies who can (quite literally) afford to take risks. so many games theyve made over the past few years have been lackluster at best, knowing that their brand name or neutral concept will sell well anyway. what would benefit them most is to admit to themselves that "everyone outside of our circle of games, pretty much hates us", and expand their horizons to ideas that might cater to those outside audiences, instead of trying to anchor them in with another madden. bottom line is that just as the article states, risk taking is key.
Sure mirror edge didnt sell all that well, but it is one of the few games from EA that earns that cult following a lot of their other games lack. in a lot of ways it will probably be remembered long passed some of their other titles.
I honestly cant imagine how Theres little to no hope for mirrors edge 2, but weve already seen 3 horrific army of 2 games.
shut down Origin and go back to Steam would be job no.1
EA is far from the worst company sorry gamers feel way too entitled these days and u wonder why there is drm and and online passes. Everybody expects triple a titles but dont want to pay for them and quite honestly they could give a shit less about ur opinion or mine !!
the only good game from them is Battle Field and Dead Space. Everything else is garbage.
