The design and manufacturing of the PS4 is probably already so far along. The time for this would have been several years ago, not a few months before a possible reveal.

It's not the worst concept I've seen. The major problem for me is that it wouldn't be able to lay down. My systems are under my TV on a stand and there's not enough room to stand this vertically.

Ugh, that is really ugly.
I actually think the new Xbox and PlayStation will just be fairly plain looking black boxes with a logo on it. If they want them to be the center of your living room, they need to be aesthetically pleasing to look at. Concepts like the one in this article are too busy.

Hopefully Sony uses the same team that designed the Xperia Z, and hopefully deliver a design that screams elegance and sophistication which is what Sony's products have always been known for.

I agree. The Xperia line is really looking nice, lately. I got the TL when it came out. I love it. My only real gripe is that nobody seems to support it. :/ It was supposed to be Sony's flagship phone, with major support from most case manufacturers. Not even an Otter Box. :/
