The more I see the Last of Us, the more I think it's actually the new direction for Uncharted.
Joel looks like Drake, and the "mysterious woman" looks like Elena with dyed hair. Even her outfit looks like something Elena wears.
I have a feeling Ellie is actually Elena's daughter (both names start with E's and are 5 letters long), and she asked Drake aka Joel (takes up a new name after the apocalypse) to get here out of there as a last dying request.
If this is the case then consider my mind blown. But I could be reading into this more than I need to.
Anywho I can't wait to see more footage of TLoU, and I absolutely can't wait to own it.
I get a big the walking dead/I am legend vibe when I look at the screenshots and the videos that have been released. The last of us is surely to kick ass once it hits retail.
I wonder if we will get a glimpse at the single player for God of War Ascension....The MP looks incredible. If you haven't seen THE BIG REVEAL 7min video, they are really doing something revolutionary in the MP aspect. To think, they aren't tacking on any MP, they are revolutionizing third person MP in gory glorious style
Meh... does anyone really care what the bought-and-paid-for people at Spike really think? Every year they just give the award to the game that sells the best, usually anything published by Bethesda, so you can probably bet Dishonoured will be getting some love, and perhaps Halo 4 and Call of Duty. Really, if Journey wins a single award on Spike TV I'll eat my socks.
@ABizzel1 I though the same thing from when I saw that easter egg in Uncharted 3. But I extremely doubt it that that's the case. But if so, MIND BLOWN.
Honestly, I'd rather find out who that woman is and whether she can be trusted in the actual game. I already regret watching that cinematic from Last of Us, where a guy cuffs the girl. Now that scene wont deliver the tension during play. I feel like Ive seen to much of the game already.
Agreed, most of the winners are justified and the trailers are awesome. But the presentation and the overall feel of the show its frankly condescending and highly absurd. I wish they take out all the irrelevant celebrity appearances and cringe worthy puns. The gaming industry is dignified entertainment industry and not the 12 year old wet dream that the producers of the show make it out to be.
Why would Naughty Dog release two games in one year? Not only that, PS4 is approaching and the team that did Uncharted 3 is probably busy figuring out the hardware.
I guess MS will stay quite for VGAs. 2013 will be the release of Xbox 3, so they don't fire the big guns just before the E3 announcement.
But with Dead Space 3, Crysis 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Gears of War: Judgement, MGS, BioShock Infinite, GTA V there are quite a few games to play anyway. There are other ways to end a gen. I am looking at you, Nintendo.
Sorry I overestimated your intelligence. I am saying MS gives us a pretty big exclusive early next year and another year of excellent third party support. They will announce new hardware and new exclusive games for it at E3, because the timing fits much better than the VGAs and it is the bigger event. Got it now?
typically at the VGA's in the past we have a mix of some known games and some "reveals". I have no doubt we will get at least 2 or 3 games we don't know about yet ....and most likely 1 at least will be a WiiU game. What will be interesting will be the cat & mouse game of possible "next gen" MS / Sony games that are meant for the next consoles. Other possibilities for a reveal are the Respawn guys game and Bungie...both devs have been very quiet for the past year.
Last year's VGA's were better than they have been, thanks to Zachary Levi's hosting. However, they're still pretty bad and the producers at Spike don't actually understand video game culture. They understand bro's.
We don't want live performances from musicians. This is a video game awards show. Are you mentally challenged?!? We don't want supermodels handing out awards. They have no idea what they're saying. They just blurt out crap. If we want porn, it's free on the internet.
Also, that "3D" thing they do where they fill the on-screen room with stuff from games...is just stupid. Everyone, especially Geoff Keighley, always hypes this show like it's the second coming of Christ.
We watch this for the videos. Why can't they take the time to make it decent?
Hahaha coming from MR 117 himself! I'd also love to see it. I hope the games they make are awesome, and Activision lets them make them good. I know the contract is a bit dirty, but Bungie have proven they know how to make a good game.
last years VGAs was pathetic, not was shown but the show itself.... annoying as f and that whole tea bagging thing was lame as f, and then that 'special' guest guy was even more pathetic and just straight annoying and didnt fit in.
I think we will see a lot less Reveals this year because most games that are not announced by now are next gen games and we all know those wont be unveiled until E3.
I would take whatever Keighley teases with a grain of salt, he has disappointed us with these things before. Although I do not know what falls into his definition of "oldschool," I will avoid trying to pinpoint which game that would be. However, It would be exciting to see Bungie's new project, along with what Respawn Entertainment is working on.

Last of Us is a good swan song for Naughty Dog's run on the PS3, but it's really time to move on.
