Leviathyn.com | At the beginning of last week, PlayStation All-Star Battle Royal Beta became available for us PlayStation Plus users. I have been pretty excited about this title, so I downloaded it right away and hopped on. I have been playing it all weekend, so without wasting anymore of your time. Let me give my opinion on the PlayStation All-Star Battle Royal Beta.
While Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale didn't get the best review, there are still some aspects of the game that deserve some credit.
Though PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is a bit of a cult classic, it could have been a big hit if it launched in 2022 instead of 2012.
It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.
Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?
It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.
I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.
I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.
Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
It looks fantastic and plays great, it's shaping up to be a good game, however is it the game we built it up to be after years and years of dreaming about it? The answer to that is no. I'm more disapointed with the roaster to be honest and the fact theres no *optional* health mode like The Outfoxies/Super Smash Bros. I'll give them one more chance when they do a sequel but if they don't get these simple things right for the next game then it won't be a franchise worth investing my money into
Yes it is. It is impressing people, people are changing their minds about it and are more eager for it then they were before. People are even saying it is easier to get into then SSB. All the people still complaining about optional health and the roster is old news. The no health works very well and we all know that it is harder to get characters for the game seeing that none of them belong to them directly. It is a different circumstance from every other fighting game when people complain about it only having twenty characters. And what is better is that we can get more of them later.
I think, if you approach it as being its own game rather than a Smash clone, you have more fun with it.
Im playing this game right now and have been for the past 2 weeks, and they only have 6 characters available right now! Imagine when the full game is released! Day 1 buy for me
I personally love it. I like the super system. It definitely requires some strategy. It is hard to tell who is winning sometimes, but to me that is part of the fun. I'm really looking forward to the full game and seeing how the other modes and characters play out.
