On January 3rd, BeerDeer Games, a new (sort of) indie company located in the Czech Republic, announced their first game, Nyrthos. Nyrthos is a 2D action RPG that is fully playable within a browser along with both Android and iOS. The game consists of some beautiful 2d art styles and a fantastic storyline. In Nyrthos darkness is overtaking the land and consuming it and you’re there to stop it. A simple storyline really but at the same time I would say is pretty unique for a browser based 2d action RPG. With all of that said, BeerDeer Games has an update for us Nyrthos regarding release dates and pre-orders.
DSOGaming writes: "BeerDeer games released their first video teaser video for “ Nyrthos,“ an upcoming 2D isometric action RPG for PC, Anroid and iOS. In addition, the company revealed that the game’s Alpha Phase will launch on October 31st and those who decide to pre-order the game – currently priced at $9.99 – will be able to participate in it."
No way! They used so many colors.
Colors like : Brown, light brown, medium brown, brownish grey, light brownish greyish brown, Grey, lighter grey, greenish brown, dark brownish green.
Seriously are they that limited in terms of colors or do their artists suck that bad ?
Indie developers BeerDeer games have announced their first 2D Action RPG Nyrthos. Yolanda Green is the first journalist to interview them about their game.
In our modern society most entertainment mediums have become less and less meaningful. Often there is only one goal: get as many supporters as possible, by any means possible. Chasing numbers and cash and fame has become prominent.
With an extraordinary influx of social games, flash games and games that are simple yet addictive and only played to pass the time, games have become less about taking the players on a journey and more about acquiring as big an audience as possible.
We see many astoundingly coded games that have a bigger focus on how “good” the graphics can be and less about how captivating the story can be. Storylines suffer and are sacrificed because there possibly isn’t enough time to make all aspects of the game equally as good.
This week while sifting through press releases I stumbled across a seemingly average press release about a game I’ve never heard of before. It was everything but ordinary. Reading through the press release I discovered a rare honesty and true passion for game development from the BeerDeer games team.
