What On Earth Is Nintendo Up To?

Nintendo’s behaviour over the past month has left many gamers puzzled, but it reveals some interesting truths about E3 and the industry. (3DS, Nintendo, Wii U)

Especially since most of the gamers I know has absolutely no respect for IGN because they seem to be out of touch with what gaming really is. It's cute to see them make their defense videos after they troll a game.

On topic: Nintendo needs to get a release date and price out for the Wii U NOW!!!

Counting money?

'The publisher has repeatedly snubbed huge-scale events like Gamescom and TGS, refusing to take those opportunities to make announcements. It has already withdrawn from both of those events. E3 is quite possibly next.'

If it's going to continue to be like this, they might as well. E3 is the show that we nerds, buyers of many games, and enjoyers of deeper gaming experiences watch. The general press will go anywhere any time to listen astutely to what Nintendo has to say, and Nintendo saying the types of things they did this year at E3 means no more on that day to the less avid gamer than it does a month earlier or two months later. But E3 IS the time when the avid gamer, seeking deeper gaming experiences is waiting and listening for a reason to throw their money into Nintendo's pocket.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Wrong. Actually, if it was in hands of "us" nerds, the wii would never sold, since it is "low definition" a "gimmick" and a "kiddy non hardcore" console. Yet, it sold like fresh hotcakes. To the real customer, the one that's on the streets, who is playing instead of posting on N4G.

The E3 is a business showcase, nothing more.

I'm talking about E3, not the industry as a whole. People who actually care about E3 and pay attention to E3 moreso than they would just reading about something Nintendo said at any other time of the year are the gamers who enjoy and desire deeper experiences.

Did you actually read what I said? Or did you just feel like posting some snide b.s.?

"ds, the wii would never sold, since it is "low definition" a "gimmick" and a "kiddy non hardcore" console."

Subjective view on the world.
Quite.

So many gamers are so upset or angry or whatever at Nintendo for the games or lack thereof for the Wii U. No Metroid? No Mario platformer? No Zelda? OH NINTENDO HAS LOST IT, HERP DERP. Of course these games are being made dumbasses.

1-UP "WELL SAID"

You are right, I really don't see why people needed to have Reggie tell them the obvious.

2 years ago, Nintendo told us that WiiU Smash Bros. was coming but so what, they only started on it this year. So, why is it necessary to hear about an announcement of a game that is probably a year to 3 away? To each their own.
