The crime is apparently as frequent as it is disappointing, and as such, there are a significant number of games that tricked us into thinking they would be great with trailers that were no more than flagrant misrepresentation.
We might be in the age of remasters, but it doesn't look like the Dead Island 2 devs believe remaking the original game is the right move for the series.
but remakes require far less effort for these companies and they can still charge $70 for them!
Feel like everyone makes fun of Skyrim re-releasing like 18 times yet applaud these remasters elsewhere. Would much prefer NEW games
Making sequels really is the way to go. Otherwise we'll be stuck playing only the first entry, forever!!!
Josiah Motley of KnowTechie writes: "I love video game trailers. While I don’t believe they are an integral part of a game’s success (especially these days), there’s something about a well-produced trailer that really just reminds me why I like video games."
It’s the music. It’s perfect. I agree with this for sure, it is well choreographed….unfortunately the game didn’t live up to the trailer.
Have you ever seen any of the MGS 3 or MGS 4 trailers? Those blow this out of the water for me.
HPP's Josh crafts an unholy list of the Top 8 Spooky Games In Need a Sequel That Originated on Nintendo Platforms. From old to new, a gory list to dream about.
The title says the criteria was explicitly written to mention Eternal Darkness. I am happy to see House of the Dead: OVERKILL on here. With the rise of Grindhouse themes in the 2010s, (ie WET), this was one that was both entertaining and camp funny.
Would be nice to see a new Zombie game set in the UK again, some of the landmarks, old architecture and the like really fits in well with the genre.
dead island , AC3 , BF3 , beyond , and the latest is ground zeroes
Clicked the article... saw Playstation 4... left the article. Don't vote this flame war crap up, please.
PS4 is a console which was pointed out in the article but still shouldn't have made this list. All consoles have minimal games when they are released to the market. It's not like the Wii U or XBOX ONE had a plethora of games at launch. Nor most other consoles ever released. So what gives with pointing out the PS4 exclusively as being disappointing? Personally I don't know a soul that purchased a PS4 that is disappointed with their purchase.
And "every" Call of Duty game? I couldn't disagree with that more. COD4 was arguably one of the best shooters ever to grace a console and all COD games weren't disappointing. That's an exaggeration.
BTW, what's with having to click through 11 pages to see the list? That's annoying / cumbersome.
I didn't think Beyond was a disappointment. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I thought Heavy Rain was better. Look forward to seeing what Quantic Dream cook up on PS4.
Interesting article. I would add Twlight princess if the article is not only for 2014 games...
