Resident Evil 4 Explodes on the screen with this mindblowing experience

Resident Evil Blasts backs on to the gaming scene with this installment in its horror survival franchise. This time reuniting us with Leon.S.Kennedy,If you remember the series you should be familiar with the scares it delivers and this installment carries on that legacy. You dont really have to be a Resident Evil Fan to appreciate and like this game as its almost completely different to the previous titles, although it will help your temperament if you are familiar with the series

The game takes you away to europe as leon, who has been recruited in the u.s secret service since Resident Evil 2,on a mission to rescue the presidents daughter ashley graham from a cult of monsters who possess humans, referred as los ganados.Although he may seem one at first leon is in noway a pushover and fits perfectly as the protaginist also assissting him throughout the storyline is ada wong who is working undercover for albert wesker.other characters include luis sera, saddler, salazar and jack krauser. The storyline doesnt stay consistent as it shifts from the village to the castle and to an island, the core objective throughout the game focuses on saving ashley and retrieving the antidote to the virus

Gameplay, has taken a serious reboot from the previous installments of the series as it shifts the camera to behind leon and acts as a Third person shooter,It focuses on fighting off hordes of enemies in (usually)big and creepy areas. The addition of a laser light really helps the player know where he his about to shoot which was a big deficiet in the previous games.Shooting enemies in specific areas is helpful like shooting on their feet will make them stumble and shooting on their arms can knock off the weapon in their arm or parry off projectiles. The enemies in this time around arent zombies so they are also considerably harder to fight, they are faster and more intelligent,Environments help in the fighting sequence as kicking down a ladder will slow down the enemies, shooting at explosives also help your cause. There are button mashing sequences to damage enemies' weak areas, help you get free of an enemies grasp or dodge any attack.Although Leon is a tough guy his life does diminish rather quickly which makes him weaker as it keeps detoriating, with him starting to limp and less quicker,The weapons differ from each other in terms of power and speed, upgrades are available to increase the quality of both features while collecting and combining herbs, potions replenish and increase your life.

Leons arsenal of weapons increase throughout the span of the game ranging from handgun to grenades to rocket launchers, all of these gained from a wandering merchant.Money is gained my finding ornaments and crystals from the environments and selling them to the merchant.ammunitions are found across the areas in boxes and containers or when a weapon has been upgraded.Leon has an inventory to place all the items he has and the size counts so you will have to do some shuffling to fit everything while also sacrificing something less important from time to time, although you can extend your space by buying larger cases.Boss fights have specific strategies and even though hard at times they are still one of the most satisfying experience of any game,to defeat them you have to hit them in weak points, dodging is compulsary, picking the right weapons and making use of the environment around you. The map that you have helps you know where to go and believe me you will have to use at some point during the game.Puzzle sequences give a well deserved break from fighting the ganados and also giving us some time to think as well although they are quite easy so they shouldent give you any headaches

This big Enough for you?

Graphics are good and thats about it actually, I wouldent call them as poor but i they arent beautiful either,as it tends to get blurrish at times and also feels smudged up butthat maybe due to the level of detail presented. The gory is immensely satisfying because you can practically see the blood gushing away,or the head of an enemy getting blown off.Even though you may get impatient by dieing, you cant say that seeing leons head cut off was cool! The cutscenes dotn really differ from the ingame graphics and it may be confusing when you get into play especially if a button mashing sequence suddenly pops up.The soundtrack fits perfectly with the tone of the game with its depressed and scary music and sudden bumps in between at the time when you are investigating, then shifting to a louder sequence in boss fights or regular ones or when a timer is activated.

The extra features dont include the usual of only ingame cutscenes, theres a mini game called seperate ways involving ada wongs involvement in the game which serves as a behind the scenes of the events in Resident Evil 4,and its not just a cheap sideway show, its a full blown addition to the game, there is also adas report which tells us about adas connections with wesker and her opinion about the whole events going on and also a backdrop on the characters.Extra costumes for Leon and Ashley, another weapon and the traditional movie browser are also available.

Resident Evil provides an explosive experience to all gamers and especially to the fans of the horror adventure genre, its an amazing thrill ride throughout the events and environments, that should also scare you away while also giving you with a Completely different experience. The bottom line is that if you dont have this game already get it to go beyond gaming and transform yourself in to the hardcore and extreme gamer!

Yeah I figured it would be ordered like this. For me Leons best game was his debut. RE2.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Is Great, Capcom, But What About Dino Crisis?

Capcom has done it again with the Resident Evil 4 remake, but many classics like the crazy dinosaur horror Dino Crisis await the spotlight.

chrisx364d ago

That game is extremely underrated. I had tons of crazy fun with God hand and it could be really punishing at times. But I think it's too a niche title to have a full remake budget put on

SinisterMister364d ago

Wish we could a new Godhand. This game in modern ages would slap hard. Just imagine.
