DSOGaming writes: "Now this is a pleasant surprise. We all loved the first parts of the Resident Evil franchise. You know; fixed camera viewpoints in which players control the main characters in order to solve puzzles. So, meet everyone Thanatophobia; a PC game that is based on Resident Evil’s classic gameplay mechanics that looks more interesting than Resident Evil 5 & 6 combined."
IGM has a brief chat with the developer behind, Thanatophobia a game that is heavily influenced by the early versions of Silent Hill and Resident Evil.
Death Knell have decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day by releasing a teaser trailer for their upcoming survival horror Thanatophobia, which really gives you an insight into the game’s atmosphere and my word it is spine chillingly delicious.
Thanatophobia. Now that’s a catchy title. The word actually means ‘fear of death’ so you can hazard a guess as to what genre this debut title from Death Knell Games falls in to. Of course it’s a survival horror and one that we hold close to our hearts. Why? Well, as huge fans of survival horror we find ourselves rather disappointed in the AAA shift towards something that more closely resembles action-horror.
Resident evil movies and games alike should have ended a good long time ago.
These dudes sound like they are actually cooking with Strickland propane. I just hope their ambitions translate well into the game itself. I'm trying my hardest to contain myself for Thanatopia because this may be a proper evolution of survival horror without jumping genres.....
Please don't disappoint Death Knell. ;_;
I like these guys seems like the kind of
game ive been waiting to come back from the PS2 era.
Just from the image it looks like a resident evil game from the passed. Would like to see some gameplay.
Very nice, replayed Resident Evil Remake a few months ago and forgot how amazing it was. While I'd love a new RE in that style (or at least a RE2 remake) but since that is unlikely, I'll take a good indie RE game any day.
I heard of this title about a year and a half a go. It's been hush for a while but glad to see it still in production.
look like Silent Hill Than Resident Evil.
When I think RE mechanics I think horrible camera angles and awful controls.
