Is This The Dream Lineup For The Xbox 720?

"A couple of days back, we had published a similar article on the PlayStation 4. So it only made sense to do one on the Xbox 720. In our continuing quest to shed light on the future of gaming, we now turn our sights to the Xbox 720. "

Alan Wake 2 might be the game that finally push me to get a microsoft console.

Loki864118d ago

Hate people like you, focus on only the negative. Of course there will be kinect titles on the next-gen system. Did you not see the rest of the list, I am guessing not since you are most likely on here to bash MS anyways.

UnholyLight4118d ago

Kinect sports is ACTUALLY kinda fun though..

Tr10wn4118d ago

"Kinect sports is ACTUALLY kinda fun though.."

Fun? *pukes*

IAMERROR4118d ago

yes, you guys caught me. I'm here to bash ms even though I've defended them countless times on this site...

Sure fun, but third one? that's hardly a dream lineup, give me some Conker

Gildarts4117d ago

I do not think there will be a Kinect sports 3 for quite some time, i think rare is done with Kinect sports, they are ready for core games now with Kinect support probably. I can see perfect dark work fine in combination with Kinect.

AngelicIceDiamond4118d ago

I'm 90% sure we won't see Halo 5 and FableIV make launch date.

imdaboss14118d ago

if uwant exclusive games u got to get the PS4 they have a lot of first party games..

CommonSense4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

yeah? and what if you, like me, don't really care for sony's exclusives?

thanks for trolling! don't come back soon.

Gazondaily4117d ago

You mean like how the PS3 launched with so many amazing exclusives?

4117d ago
Kurt Russell4117d ago

Actually the PS4 has no games. It doesn't even have a power cord...

Murad4117d ago

I can't say they have a lot, but I found their quality to be better. For example, MGS 4 ran amazing, and so did White Knight, along with Folklore, and a bunch of different titles. I think of it like this, as long as pirates don't attack, the exclusives will be better, well I hope so anyway.

indubitably4117d ago

Having tons of exclusives is really cool and all but there is no way I would buy all of them. I feel like people who obsess over them never get a multiplat because of all the money they have to dish out to get their half rate exclusives.

Get it for PC
No need for a Xbox...Support Remedy and their favorite platform. They did fight like they want to leave hell that they can bring Alan Wake 1 for PC after the 360 version FLOPPED so hard.

BanBrother4117d ago

Bert, I'm pretty sure it sold more on xbox than it did PC. Although, you peg-legged PC pirates probably held it back from any decent sales to begin with. Tssssssss

creeping judas4117d ago

I so hope that English is not your first language!!

Murad4117d ago

Dude, it's not worth it. I mean don't get me wrong, Alan Wake was spectacular in every way. The story, the atmosphere, the use of the flashlight, and the gun, hell it was even scarier than what the Resident Evil franchise has become. However, the thing is that, I'm pretty sure Steam is going to have it, and honestly, most games that are released on Xbox are released on Steam, besides Kinect and Gears apparently, besides Gears 1.

Stuart57564117d ago

Alan Wake was great, but a launch lineup would need much more than this to sell me a new console, can't wait for announcements.

Belking4118d ago

Yea, pretty good lineup there but I think MS will actually have Alan wake 2 for it. I also think there will be other console exclusives like Just Cause 3 too. Rara is sure to have something for it. Their have been rumors of them working on next gen since 2011.

JoGam4118d ago (Edited 4118d ago )

Just Cause is a multiplatform game my friend. MS may pay for some exclusive DLC but the game would be on every console. Not sure about Wii U

CommonSense4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

It took me at least twice as long to read this sentence as it should have. Good use of punctuation.

And, why are you "all in" on speculation?

RuleofOne343 4118d ago (Edited 4118d ago )

As a consumer I think MS has heard the cries ,whining & concern from fans about lack of exclusives. They just seem to be handling it in a form where it does not cost tons of cash for both the developer & themselves but where it is still profitable for both parties while satisfying the consumer it just happen to be a slow process. Here hoping for a ton of awesome 1st ,2ND party IP & some great 3rd party new IP ,sequels, prequels.

ScubbaSteve4118d ago

Not sure how you came to that conclusion, they aren't really pumping out many exclusives. Their strategy this generation has been to offer the same games you can find on other platforms with timed DLC.

AngelicIceDiamond4118d ago

That wasn't their strategy for the entire generation. The first 5 years MS was super aggressive about exclusives.

Just watch E3 2010 they didn't announce a single new game besides Ryse and the rest was casual stuff.

Isn't it suspicious that MS stop producing a big quanity of hardcore exclusives after the 2010's big line up? And then all of sudden rumors coming out saying MS has been working on next gen titles for the past couple of years?

Or the fact that MS had that timed exclusive DLC to COD for 3 years? 2009 to 2012 with super heavy rumors of MS new console getting released this fall?

Its all sketchy.

ScubbaSteve4118d ago

I'm not sure how that's sketchy at all, they started this generation by buying 3rd party support to eat away at the PS marketshare. They then offered timed exclusives on games to which consumers got wise about. You didn't need to spend 200-300 dollars on a new console you just had to wait a bit.

This resulted in the HD platforms being split in user base so every intelligent, 3rd party developer that wanted to make HD games made multi-platorm games for the rest of the generation unless they were paid enough money to make up the difference. Microsoft no longer had to buy exclusives because they were already in the door competing and the 3rd parties had to make multi-platform games anyways or they'd be losing out on roughly half their sales.

I'm just saying they didn't need exclusives at the end of the generation because every 3rd party developer was already resolved to make multi-platform games.

Gildarts4117d ago

They are in the process of making tons of exclusives you only need to look at how many studios they opened the last 2 years they now have more first party studios then Sony.

ScubbaSteve4117d ago

@Gildarts
That really doesn't convince me of anything, I've been a gamer for many years and I've seen many of my favorite studios get bought out by MS only to never see the games they use to produce ever again. Hearing that they opened some studios with unproven track records doesn't really guarantee anything good will come out of them.

+ Show (1) more replyLast reply 4117d ago
KwietStorm_BLM4118d ago

They have to have the studios first to have 1st party exclusives. That's the problem. They have the handful of regulars like Halo and Forsake, and Gears if you include close relationship devs. They got away with times exclusives a lot earlier on this generation, but that well dried up industry wide. 3rd party developers need to make money too. This is why it concerns me what Microsoft will do moving forward. The multimedia box strategy doesn't do anything for me.

whoyouwit044118d ago (Edited 4118d ago )

Dude do you do any research at all? cause if you did you would know that Microsoft has a shit load of studios that we haven't even see the first game from, Sony is the one that needs more studios they are closing doors left and right. Microsoft has the back catalog and studios to put Sony to shame but they just want use them properly. here's a list of Microsoft studios and what they are working on

United States

343 Industries – Halo series
Connected Experiences – Untitled Project – Design Large scale multiplayer title and help other first party studios
Good Science Studio – Kinect Adventures, Kinect Fun Labs

As you can see they have plenty of studios and unannounced games so who knows what the future of Xbox will be. hell they even have studios dedicated to making the hard ware better, which seems to be the only ones we been seeing from lately.

Oh_Yeah4118d ago (Edited 4118d ago )

@whoyouwit04.. Nice big list and all but how many of those studios have made good aaa titles, 3? Halo, forza, gears... That's all the 360 has for exclusives.. All the other aaa like fable, Alan Wake, the Witcher.. They are all on pc too.

Murad4117d ago

No, you are seriously wrong. They don't care about their fans at all. Hell, I've seen University Graduates use the friggin Kinect better than Microsoft has.

Yangus4118d ago

The Witcher 3 and Forza 5 coming new box, i buy.

BertlSenix4117d ago

Witcher 3 will be better on PC and Gran Turismo or Project Cars are far superior to the unrealistic and lame Forza Series.
Get a PC and PS4.Only good choice if you want the best games in the best quality and a lot of variety.

Imalwaysright4117d ago

Witcher 2 sold poorly on the 360.

Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX

This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies1d ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

just_looken19h ago

Here here

Those that were around before 2000's i am sure are like me that think we entered a world of non readers or those that follow without question.

I can not wait to see fallout 3 a goty game even though it was about water with non content until you add the dlc/updates then you got the performance/crashing

CrimsonWing691d 11h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker1d 11h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo1d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing691d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos1d 7h ago (Edited 1d 7h ago )

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

Gameseeker_Frampt23h ago

Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.

2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

just_looken19h ago

It still amazes me we got over 7 rockstar games ps2/ps3 but 3 for the ps3/ps4/ps5

Dragon age 1-3 and mass effect 1-3 in 7ish years what a generation.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos1d 17h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto1d 16h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger881d 16h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

ChasterMies1d 6h ago

Trevor in GTA 6 is a sadist and psychopath who dabbles in cannibalism. Should be top of the list. These game “news” sites should hire people that know games.
