I am not saying this will never take off, I just don't think it will be anytime soon. I for one have PC, PS3, Wii U, and Galaxy3 phone. I have all the gaming I need till PS4 comes out. I guess I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

I probably wouldn't buy it as I already have a beast of a gaming computer that is hooked up to my 55" LEDTV in my living room, but for everyone that doesn't have a lot of room this seems to be a great option.

I also like that it is upgradable, I think the console makers should make consoles upgradable in some way.

I own a PS3 original model 80GB, a Xbox360 that came out in 2010, used to have the wii. I just love them all, I don't discriminate :-)

I'm with Santista.
It looks great, but already owning everything I need...I'm not anxious to switch over.
I'd rather upgrade my pc, or grab the next best console (whoever that may be).
In the end, I'm glad there are SO many options coming into play.

It will all depend on cost really. If I can buy/build a gaming PC for less than what these are offered for, I will buy/build a gaming PC. But if these end up costing less, and have the same gaming abilities as a gaming PC, minus all the desktop stuff, then I will buy one of these.

The deciding factor for these will be the price, if priced below a gaming PC, then they may just take off.

Gabe said good for $99, better for $300 and best for what u willing to spend.
So deciding factor is how much power and features these packages will have.

it means only one thing: trouble for sony.

CES 2013: Ion Audio | Gametista

Ion may be known to many Rock Band fans as the makers of the Ion Rocker Drum Set. The last few years it appears Ion has been transitioning their creations to be more Apple product based. Based on their booth this year, it seems they’re still pushing towards that direction, but also trying to develop more ways to interact with your music.

Pixel Judge :Steam Boxes – Answers Bring More Questions

For a long time there were rumors about Valve making their own console. As with many rumors, there were not many reliable details, so it was hard to know the real state of things. Finally, with the announcement of Big Picture mode and Steam on Linux in 2012, we knew that development of some sort of “Steam Box” was not just a rumor. Now, after CES 2013 there is a lot more information about Valve plans for hardware and Steam in the living room.

I'm very interested in seeing where Valve goes with the Steam Box(s). The prices have (somehow)get to get to a reasonable level though - why spend $1000 on a "box" when you can build a dang good gaming desktop that can use Big Picture for the same price?

Either way, I see where this is going and I really like it. Having a small PC-based multimedia box that does most everything is most likely going to be an affordable thing in the next decade.
