VB - We can all agree on this: 18 years was too long a wait for a follow-up to Shaq Fu.
That 1994 fighter, featuring then-NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal as a child-rescuing, kung fu messiah, became legendary as one of the worst video games ever conceived by man. It’s a go-to implement for CIA torture, a negative example even when applied to other negative examples. At least one website has dedicated itself to collecting and destroying all known copies. Remarkably, Shaq hasn’t headlined a game since.
The original Shaq Fu was a pretty dire embarrassment, a relic from the age of 1994 basketball mania that saw Space Jam inexplicably become a smash hit and multiple NBA stars get their own games.
We interview Alasdair Hibberd about the upcoming Shaq Fu – A Legend Reborn after the negative impact the original game back in 1994 had for being infamously bad, as well as some of the new features, platforms expected and some of the all-new features included.
OX writes: "It seems the noble sport of basketball simply isn't weird enough for videogames, which is why we ended up with these bizarre, mutated takes on the sport featuring some of its biggest stars."
I had Chaos in the Windy City. It was fun and hard, I never got beat the game. A reboot would be awesome.
Shaq Fu is the greatest fighting game ever lol.
This is absolutely terrifying.
This game is sorely missing the letters F and U.
i'd be happy if this one didn't dig up the past.
Finally!
Yay?
