The future of the Timesplitters series remains undecided, according to Crytek's CEO.
In an interview with CVG, Cevat Yerli revealed that the team isn't currently working on Timesplitters 4, and that a retail release would be out of the question anyway.
He said, "I wish we were working on it, I will say that. I think hopes are high, but change has to happen in the platform space. I'm very excited potentially about the idea of a TimeSplitters for G-Face.
The thing with TimeSplitters is, if we made a sequel to TimeSplitters, nobody would accept this apart from some fans, and we don't know how big the fan community is, unfortunately. And we don't want to design this as a packaged goods game that launches on a console, and even if we wanted to I don't think publishers would like the idea. That is the truth, and that was the truth even before we bought Free Radical."
Today Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson provided a look into his ideas for the use of generative AI in the company's development processes.
EA is still a shady shitty company even with or without the help of Skynet. All they will use AI for is new ways to milk loot boxes and come up with the same sports title with a different year on the label. They are one company I truly do hate with a passion. They single handedly ruined some great franchise with their death touch. ME, Dead Space, Alice Returns, Dante's Inferno.
EA layoffs followed by 'Generative AI to Drive Monetization'
I knew it. Wonder what AI salary looks like? Nothing.
And take away creativity, and people's jobs as we've been seeing. Got it.
No thanks. I want my games created by people, not AI.
EA doesn't want to lose their title of worst gaming company ever, always trying their best to remain the champs!
What's sad is that they have so much potential to be a decent publisher.
SSX Tricky / SSX 3
Def Jam Vendetta / Fight for New York
NBA Street
NFL Steet
Mirror's Edge
Bad Company
Burnout 3 / 4 / 5
Remember when EA used to be awesome? It's all over with now. Unpolished, if not out-right broken games these days. Endless monetization and gambling in their sports games, and let's not forget wasting hours of your life trying to unlock characters or equipment using "surprise boxes!"
Unveiled footage of the cancelled TimeSplitters game emerges after Free Radical's closure, igniting fans' nostalgia and hopes for a revival.
From looking at the gameplay, it just looks like Fortnite, this would have been very poorly received by timesplitters fans.
I'm glad this got cancelled, what's with the Fornite knockoff? TimeSplitters was an FPS, not a 3rd person battle royale.
What were they thinking?
I got into a minor disagreement with their staff shortly after the closure, after i commented about a Timesplitters HD remaster to gauge public reception before such a big project here:

Looking at the gameplay footage, it's clear that the staff (no matter what level) we're out of their depth, putting lots of hours into a game that would of been DOA if Embracer didn't shut it down.
They removed the footage. Here it is if anyone's interested: https://youtu.be/BesmfPD8fj...
It's basically a Fortnite clone. Seems like a good decision to cancel this game.
Gareth, Justin, and JoeyZ look at Layoff news for EA and Sony and reasons behind the downturn in the industry and more.
:( make a dam HD remake or somthing....for the vita would be good too.
Just do it! Enough people want it!
Holy crap Crytek, get over yourselves and make a damn Timesplitters game. I can guarantee you that it will make more than Crysis or Haze ever did...
