Hopefully, with Molyneux gone, the tradition of false promises can be broken and the devs can go back to the roots of the series which made the first game so great.

And oh yeah, I want to be able to plant a seed and watch it grow into a tree in the next Fable.

Abash4382d ago

Id like to see a new IP from Lionhead Studios. Fable should be put to rest or take a long break

aviator1894382d ago

Yeah, same here. I wonder what they're using that new engine they showed off at GDC for. Hopefully, it's a new game and they're holding off Fable 4 until a little down the road.

NukaCola4382d ago

I wish they'd just make B.C. already. That was the game I really wanted on the original Xbox before Lionhead went full steam into Fable.

EVILDEAD3604382d ago

Love Fable and it's far from off track..

I love that they are doing the side games to give you something a little different.

Save Fable 4 for 720..I'd love to see what Lionhead pulls off next gen.

Peter or not they make some fun RPGs..

Fable's art is amazing, Your interaction with the world is amazing. Lots of stuff in fable is really good but it always ends up failing on gameplay.

They should honestly take a look at the top RPG's and see if they can take anything from all those and give Fable its own identity in gameplay which is good and not too easy.

Fable is just finished all of the creative ideas are gone

Aesth3tic_Karma4382d ago

I think that Fable has a lot of creativity to work with. I just hope Lionhead is able to express the creativity and build on the great ideas that were promised in the first place.

Dualshockers_Carlos4382d ago

fable has been off track since fable 1

Nac4382d ago

Have the strength of Fable 1's story and the openness of Fable 2.

TekoIie4381d ago

...and the gameplay of a good game. Sorry but i honestly feel its gameplay which ruins Fable. It does good-brilliant in just about everything other than gameplay. Fable 2 was too easy and then in Fable 3 they sort of ruined it.

Announced in 2020, Playground Games' open-world action RPG has seen sporadic updates and departures but still no release date.

I expect it to be released by 2026

Sonic18816d ago (Edited 6d ago )

I expect it to release by the time the next Xbox releases. Can that be 2026? Sure

DOMination-6d ago

You could say the same for any number of games that were stupidly announced during pre-production. Elder Scrolls 6 & Perfect Dark are current examples, Blade is another recent one and in the past Mass Effect Andromeda and Cyberpunk 2077 come to mind.

I don't think this game is in any trouble. For a start, Playground Games are one of the few under MS Studios that actually have a track record of delivering on time and with quality. We got a trailer last year and I'd fully expect there to be something more substantial at the next showcase in the summer.

No dramas here - just another victim of Microsoft's incompetence. They simply had to announce several games way too early because they had nothing else to talk about.

Michiel19896d ago

how are they a victim when they are clearly being given enough time? They haven't set any release date, haven't had to show any trailers, how is that being a victim? You even say yourself that you think it's not in trouble.

MrBaskerville6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

TESVI was mostly announced to stop people from asking. Like how they gave us a roadmap of first Starfield, then TES then Fallout. So people keep asking whether they'll do another one or not.

But Fable and Perfect Dark was defineately too early.

Tody_ZA6d ago

The same thing that happens to any project when you announce it far too early. Perfect Dark, Fable, The Elder Scrolls 6, Star Wars KOTOR Remake...you actually have to, I don't know, make the game?

I'm fairly confident this game will see the light of day, as Playground have released 5 Forza games of quality and on schedule. Think it was just revealed too early.

Charlieboy3335d ago

The only issue I see is that, as you mentioned, they have only done Forza games. An RPG is completely different requiring completely different facets.

Whole new different open world....not just tracks. Character designs and animations, dialogue, combat systems, quest systems, equipment and inventory managment....the list is very long and none of it falls under their previous experience.

Even with assistance from other studios I believe they are still far off from delivering a complete version of this game.

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer145d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog145d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned145d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c145d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb145d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies145d ago (Edited 145d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal145d ago (Edited 145d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72145d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman145d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos144d ago (Edited 144d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows144d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.
