Peter Molyneux has high hopes for Playground's Fable

One of the biggest reveals at this year's Xbox Games Showcase was the latest Fable trailer. After a lengthy stint of silence, Playground Games gave us a look at bits of the title, albeit in a trailer that was mostly made up of CGI nonsense headlined by comedian Richard Ayoade, who is playing a rather frustrated giant.

Molyneux asked about what he thought about the Fable reveal.

Don't they all? He's the father of Fable. It really is a loss to Microsoft Lionhead is gone. With all the money Microsoft's throwing around at acquiring studios, they gave up one of their best. Lionhead was fine until someone at Microsoft said: Hey, my names K.S. we're working on this thing called Kinect and Xbox says you have no choice. I mean, come on Milo? Would've been cool, but Lionhead was better off working on Fable. So they scrapped the studio and gave it to Playground....... Xbox Executives are morons

What, based off a pre-rendered trailer? ( featuring the ugliest woman ever committed to pixel for some reason ). Or based on the fact that the developer of this fantasy rpg has only ever created racing games? I'm really curious as to where these high hopes come from.

The game looks good on his own but nobody asked for his blessing. This is the guy that over sold and flat out lied about all the Fables.

Plus the frames were at 10 5 fps. No almost no optimization what's so ever.

Hey the games were fun for its time he achieved that but he's also a liar also.

it actually wasn't cg tho. it was running in engine, intercut with moments of gameplay. pretty impressive.

What you did there is called moving the goal post. You asked what studio from Microsoft. It doesn't matter if they were with Microsoft or not. Now if you would of said how many MS published that would be different, but it still doesn't take away the fact that they developed good games in the eyes of some. Redfall was started before the MS purchase and that game didn't do well so you blame MS for that, but then the Outerworlds was also started before the MS purchase but that one diid very well but we can't count that one when it's pretty much the same si

OK I never got to finish my post above because I lost my internet connection for some reason. But what I wanted to add was the outerworlds was not even close to being finished when they were purchased by Ms. The games was only in development for one and a half to two years. It's seems there is a double standard there.

And the point I was trying to make in reference to naughty dog is that they didn't start out being the great studio that they are now. It took years.
