Super Mario RPG is the first Mario RPG, and inspired famous series like Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario. For the first time, Mario has a party with other four characters (Peach, Bowser, Geno and Mallow), fights and explores like in typical japanese role playing games. Good graphics and funny situations in this good SNES game.
In the 16-bit era, game devs and composers could finally change the type of tones used in the music, simulating a wider array of instruments and creating a whole lot of great soundtracks in the process.
It wasn’t easy picking out the best of the best because there were so many great ones. Even middle-of-the-road soundtracks seemed to deserve a bump if the game was just that damn good, and so many from that era are that damn good!
Here's the Ghetto Gamer list of top 20 soundtracks from the 16-bit era.
The director of Super Mario RPG wants to make a sequel of the game to close out his career
Super Mario rpg was my first introduction to jrpgs on the SNES. I adored it so much I was hooked & bought most jrpgs made by Squaresoft including others like Breath Of Fire 1& 2 on the SNES.
That would be great, but please make it in the same vein as the original. Just super updated graphics and visual effects.
The original was my gateway into JRPGs and still holds a place in my heart as one of my favorite games of all time.
These JRPGs stand up on their own.
Awesome game
Another gem for the snes. ohh that console has so many good games.
