PS Vita Has The 2nd Most Launch Titles Of Any System In The Last 12 Years

The Playstation Vita launch in North America is just a few days away on Wednesday February 22nd, so we thought it would be fun to see if the Vita has the most launch titles in recent history. We’ll compare the Vita to every console in the last 12 years: The PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, PSP, PS3, Wii, and 3DS.

If you look at the article, the best selling consoles also had the biggest launch lineups. Looks like the VITA is destined for PS2 sales territory.

Vita also has the best launch day demos. Every shooter fan should download the Unit 13 demo. It will have leaderboards and your stats transfer over to the final game.

In my area I have seen a peak of 50 people using their Vita and Near.

All I said was too keep all of this in perspective because especially when it comes to launches people over react positively and negatively.

We wont know the true strength or weakness of this system until many many many years from now.

The 3ds launch lineup got mixed reviews, sold well at launch, DOOM, and then it stormed back to be the most successful system of the year.

The vita lineup also got mixed reviews, isnt selling so well at launch, DOOM, and _________________

As for the Vita's line up is better than ANY playstation in the past and I'd say better than any portable as well. GBA, DS, PSP, etc really didn't have that great of launch titles.

I brought it up to make a fact. And not a single fact I said is incorrect. Hell the first fiscal year isnt even over yet and its 16_ mil strong.

I just hope the vita gets to be that strong like the psp was.

The best launch lineups in history were the dreamcast,gba,psp. The vita is a very close fourth.

tony hawk, twisted metal, wipe out, METAL GEAR, ape escape, darkstalkers were incredible.

And like I said before quantity means nothing, and quality is opinion.

Oh well that's too bad but Vita 3rd party support is still there and isn't going anywhere yet. That may be the case in the future but not right now.

Oh and the PSP launch sucked. Twisted Metal and WipEout were great but it lacked and lacked afterwards. The Vita by FAR surpasses the PSP in quality and quantity.

Myself as well as many others didn't think the PSP launch was that great and I loved the PSP WAAAYYY more than the DS so it's not like I'm hating on it for no reason.

Second time I have seen you harping on about this. What's your problem any way? They said VITA has 2nd most launch titles of any system in the last 12 years, fact. And you keep going on about quality and quantity and all type of nonsense.

No one denied, accused or claimed that VITA titles have or haven't any quality games and yet you are going on about it.So far most VITA titles have made above average scores so I would say that has a pretty decent launch titles. If you think otherwise that is your OPINION, not fact.

Well the 3DS had very few launch titles and most of them were very low quality. So I don't see why a handheld can't release a large quantity of quality titles. Like in the Vitas case. But that is just my opinion and that of many journalists.

Sony's approach is to take the west market based on the launch lineup. They also target those who have a Ps3 and a PSP. Japan was seemingly a testing ground for them. Why? Never launch an uncharted in Japan as your killer software when your has mario and MH.

I've had one for the last few days. It's not mine it's belong to the shop I work in but I have to say they are a brilliant little machine. There are a few things I didnt get to try like the Store and some other online functions because they arent active in my country yet. I look forward to having my own but I might have to wait until the games I want drop in price. 50euro for Lumines and Dungeon Hunter stings too much.
P.S. Uncharted Golden Abyss looks FANTASTIC for a handheld game - the aiming takes some getting used to though :P
