"She's my Xbox and her name is Sony" seems pretty appropriate here...

xHeavYx3897d ago

Pff, everybody knows that Nintendo is making the PS4, it's Sega the one making the Xbox

SolidStoner3897d ago (Edited 3897d ago )

Replacing a great billboard with crap. It should be labeled, "Microsoft and the NSA giving you the shaft." Da Bone.

It's just people that grew up with gaming but quit during adulthood or has only had contact with it via relatives and so on, they could also have said the "Atari xbox" in many places in Europe a "playstation" means gaming console just like "Iphone" means for many smartphone, it's the power of branding

I recall when I was a kid calling any adhesive tape "scotch"

What the add is wasn't really important for the story, just that the strip club add is switched to one with a gaming console...nothing to do with intelligence really

mohuz23896d ago

yeah, isn't Atari the one who made the Vita?

Some people are so dumb, they don't know they are dumb, they actually think they are smart.

That is how FAR from smart they really are.

Those people were in charge of putting this billboard up.

People like this, RUN companies........mostly into the ground though.

It's stuff like this that makes the rest of the world think " All Americans are stupid" ...

How can we argue with them?

TheNewSquid3897d ago

Well, the problem isn't with the billboard itself, but with the news outlet that covered it. They didn't even notice that the "Microsoft" in the corner of the billboard meant this was a Microsoft product rather than a Nintendo one.

jamz43897d ago

"they don't know they are dumb"

How very fitting that you write this and then flame the billboard company instead of the TV station...

TwilightSparkle3897d ago

everyone is dumb till they learn

3-4-53897d ago

ahhh lol I deserve that. :-)

I read it as the billboard company. And I did read the article too. embarrassing.

O well.

rainslacker3897d ago

They're ignorant, not dumb. Ignorance is the lack of knowledge. Dumb is the inability to gain knowledge or not being intelligent.

For instance. You were ignorant for thinking that the billboard company put this up. You are not dumb, because you realized your mistake and learned from it. At this time, you are no longer ignorant on the subject at hand. Circle of life and all that.

I think by now its mostly common knowledge considering Xbox has been around since 2001. It takes 1 second to Google this lol if you're not sure.

*edit: on the billboard on the bottom right it clearly says Microsoft, just wow facepalm lol

OC_MurphysLaw3897d ago

Just shows how great journalism is in todays world. I still can't believe how bad news organizations are becoming about fact checking. Prime example was from one of my local TV stations KTVU when they were reporting on the SF Asiana Plane crash...

Still makes me laugh that she reads those names off with out a second thought!

Galletto33897d ago

Better to ask forgiveness than spend two seconds on Google

Alduin3897d ago

The comments on the URL for the article are pretty funny, too. Good find.

BattleTorn3897d ago

Does the picture show anything?

All I see in a Microsoft Xbox One billboard...

younglj013897d ago

you have too watch the video too get the joke...

BLAKHOODe3896d ago

There is nothing wrong with the billboard. The news anchor in the video says the new billboard is for the "Nintendo Xbox".

With creative developers shutting everywhere, the future of games looks bleaker and more boring

Don't worry, AI will save us all.

And if you didn't know, that's sarcasm!

Idk. Great games have still been releasing. Mcsft is still no different than after the 360 era. PS, you just have to wait many years for. Nintendo is readying next gen and will definitely have many games. 3rd party and indies have been the highlight so far this year.

LucasRuinedChildhood5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

Yeah but the games coming out have been in development for many years so they're not affected by this issue.

This is more about the future.

I would say that indies will continue to put out interesting games at least. They need to avoid buyouts though or they're in danger of ending up like Roll7.

Part of the issue is that CEOs created projections based on the Covid years. Now that the line/Growth™ isn't going up, they're overcorrecting for stakeholders despite good profits. There's a certain mindlessness to it.

Hopefully with inflation down and more realistic projections, things will level out.

shinoff21834h ago

The bad thing is these ceos should now those numbers are bad faith and should know better then to use those numbers.

jwillj2k44h ago(Edited 4h ago)

Yea ok.. Microsoft is no different than the 360 era eh… what in tarnation have u been smoking to not only come to that conclusion but to consciously post it publicly.

isarai2h ago

Not really, what's happening is the sh!tty AAA industry is finally collapsing and things will revert back to mid-tier being the dominant tier like back in the day.
