Ms and Sony are relying on rumours to keep their names in the media? ....I stopped reading after that ridiculous line..

off topic - Zelda HD omg can't wait

iamnsuperman4122d ago

I agree that is the most ridiculous statement I have read in a while.

rodiabloalmeida4122d ago (Edited 4122d ago )

Comeback? Did Nintendo ever leave for instance? What a stupid question for a title.

MasterCornholio4122d ago

I think he means by blowing everyone away with the Wii. The N64 and Gamecube were failures in comparison to the Wii.

EddieNX 4122d ago

For me the anouncement of Xenoblade 2 or X is as big as they come. Like Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the best games I've played.

jimbobwahey4122d ago

Well I for one felt pretty burned on the Wii due to lack of decent software support in my opinion, which has led to me being incredibly skeptical of the Wii U. Due to the incredibly weak launch lineup and severe lack of appealing games on the horizon for the console, I was left feeling justified in my decision to not purchase a Wii U.

After watching the latest Nintendo Direct video however, I feel that the company is slowly starting to make a small comeback with titles such as Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101 and the Monolith Soft game that was shown. They haven't completely won me back as a consumer yet, but they're making steady progress and I'm hopeful for a couple of surprises at E3 that will push me over the edge into buying a Wii U.

At this point, if they showcase a new F-Zero or traditional StarFox game, they'll have my money.

JohnDread4122d ago

Exactly. I wouldn't consider it a comeback. Everyone knew those titles are on their way and I never had a thought about Nintendo "leaving" their spot alongside their 2 competitors.

chadboban4122d ago

I don't think Nintendo ever left at least in the eyes of folks like myself. I do however think that this Nintendo Direct was a good step for them in showing folks that they mean business with the Wii U. Do I think that this would make folks who had no intention of getting a Wii U change their minds about the system? Well mostly no, but it was a damn good first step on the road to doing that, if they can keep up with stuff like this, I think they may just get back some gamers yet.

There will, however, always be those folks that hate Nintendo no matter what they do.

WiiUsauce4122d ago

yeah, they're making a comeback after the Wii was the highest selling system of last gen, and had the highest rated game of all time. lol

LOL_WUT4122d ago

@WiiUsauce

Lets not get carried away the Wii U still has a lot of proving to do.

lizard812884120d ago

I see a bunch of, Nintendo is DOOMED, 3DS is a failure, Wiiu will be Nintendo's last console, ect, ect.

It is funny how one Nintendo Direct brings them back from doom to Nintendo is #winning

The Zelda HD remake does sound delicious and looks beautiful, but I'd want to also express the stupidity and obvious bias in the article beyond what you stated, but it's like....Nintendo made a comeback? By what? They already had done an Ocarina of Time remake on the 3DS that was shown to be Profitable, why not repeat that step? A Comeback by making a remake? Sony got fucking plastered by making PS2 HD Remakes as some form of 'Scamming' when really it was to those who can't find or buy the real games retail wise and not just because the new PS3's aren't PS2 BC.

A Zelda game announcement for Wii U, and another Zelda remake, what fucking Comeback? They're making another game out of the iconic series. It's as if to say, Nintendo makes a Mario Wii U game that's comparable to Mario Galaxy! THEY MADE A COMEBACK! . . . No, just no. When Nintendo decides to be innovative in Software and bring out new IP's as much as the fans should be wanting them, by all means....But they aren't making a comeback, Nintendo stays the same in which they make a Zelda game, a Mario game and a random Metroid or random Starfox game amongst a bunch of Pokemanz.

It's exciting, don't get me wrong, an idea of a more 'Open World' Zelda, even though it feels like Twilight Princess is pretty Open world along with Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask since you can go to any town as you please and goof about until you go about on the main quest again (Mini-games, get bigger bomb sacks, bigger quivers, etc) Zelda was always a Hybrid or blend imo.

At that....I know more people are demanding a Majora Mask HD remake....like, they better be inching towards that goal. If they made a Majora Mask HD Remake then I would say "Well, they clearly did this for the fans in mind, now if only they'd also listen to the Mother Series fans too"....Because Nintendo has lost their ways with pleasing their fanbase Before thinking about Money money money.

"""MS and Sony are relying on rumours to keep their names in the media"""

WTF did i just read ?!!

chadboban4122d ago

Agreed. It's a completely ridiculous statement.

WiiUsauce4122d ago

why do you do this """"" """""? it makes you look retarded.

Ezz20134121d ago (Edited 4121d ago )

why what i do bother you ?! and why should i care about yor opinion in first place ?!

Belking4122d ago

Nintendo never went anywhere.

NastyLeftHook04122d ago

if it wanted its comeback it would have went to kinects face and got it.

joeorc4122d ago

that so many media outlets trying to paint Nintendo as the underdog?

I mean, the fact that Nintendo has currently the most number of systems in the retail chain out of the big three!

DS
DSi
DSXL
3DS
3DSXL
WII
WIIU

7! systems

Sony

PSP
PS3
PSVita
What's ever left in the in the retail chain PS2

4! systems soon to be 3!

Microsoft

xbox360

1!

yet Nintendo is seen as the underdog?

LMAO

zebramocha4122d ago

Their focus is the 3ds & wiiu, those other systems don't count as games are not going to be made any more.

joeorc4122d ago (Edited 4122d ago )

"Their focus is the 3ds & wiiu, those other systems don't count as games are not going to be made any more."

that still does not take away from the fact their still in retail chains taking up shelf space!

just by target alone:

http://www.target.com/c/nin... categories_2

you can still get them in store! trust me they do infact count.

@takashima_bitch

do you still see the PSPGo on store shelves?

http://www.target.com/c/pla... categories_8

the PSPGo is not in retail chain's pretty much if it is it's what ever they have left, Nintendo has not stopped production on the DS line of Handhelds.

zebramocha4122d ago (Edited 4122d ago )

That's not my point,I'm saying even with those are models still being purchased, their focus is the 3ds,wiiu and bring older games to the new consoles.

delicia4122d ago

If you mention the 3DSXL, why not the different PSP's like the Slim or Go or the Slim consoles as well? But yeah, Nintendo's portables and video games do sell a lot.

Brad Hilderbrand explains the reason behind the recent Xbox studio closures

There are two reasons why all those Bethesda studios closed, and neither of them have anything to do with Bethesda (directly)...

Game Pass and Activision.

The guy confirming what we've all (well, most of us) been saying since the latest purchase.

XiNatsuDragnel1h ago

I'm not surprised Microsoft guys are crock nuff said

isarai1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Honestly i think Bethesda needs to buy themselves out of zenimax/MSs hands and do their own thing, i honestly think that would fix a lot of issues and save them from a potential closure.

Zeref1h ago

There's a reason they sold in the first place. And Bethesda is not closing anytime soon lol. As much as I hate the studio closures. They were all small studios 2 of them were mobile studios.

I think these are growing pains and Xbox will get back on track. But they're not getting any more passes.

Einhander19721h ago

Ah, we can see how the Microsoft media machine works.

Every article I read now is some kind of attempt to shift the blame off Microsoft and paint them as the victims or convince people that Microsoft mistakes were just some kind unforeseeable unfortunate twist of fate.

The shills are out in full force today.

Christopher45m ago

This is not at all what this article is saying. It's saying that honest and useful studios are getting closed because of big money deals elsewhere and the faults with game pass as a model.

Einhander197234m ago

I understand what the article is about.

It's a deflection, it's a putting the cart before the horse article.

Let me tell you how this problem wouldn't have existed in the first place.

Microsoft not creating a service funded by subsidization and having the foresight to see that it would disrupt consumer spending habit to begin with. Then not buying Bethesda and undertaking costs for a service that was already failing to pay for itself because their own expectations of Game Pass having "billions" of subscribers was unobtainable from the very start.

And if you don't think that was the case go back to the article on the day Game Pass launched and read the comments from people from day one who foresaw that this would be an unsustainable model and would cause people to stop spending in the same way.

Christopher11m ago

***Microsoft not creating a service funded by subsidization and having the foresight to see that it would disrupt consumer spending habit to begin with.***

This article literally supports this opinion. He's not praising Game Pass or the ABK purchase.

Microsoft Is Finally Ending Its Focus On Big Budget Gaming Nonsense

Back when the Xbox 360 launched, Microsoft pushed the big budget game as a differentiator. Following all the recent layoffs, it’s clear this strategy has run its course.

Einhander19722h ago(Edited 2h ago)

The Microsoft shill take on the Microsoft causing the death of big budget gaming...

The whole driving force for growth in gaming both technologically, creatively and financially was all nonsense, and it was definitely not because Microsoft ran the industry into the ground with obviously bad decisions and creating an unprofitable business model that massively disrupted consumer spending habits. /s

RpgSama1h ago

First, F**** Forbes and their shill take, I hope the money cleared by now.

Second, Which big budget games I might ask? Microsoft has been in a rut for like a decade now, with no big publisher and developers puechases they would have not released anything in the last 5 years but the new Halo and Forza.

Hofstaderman2h ago

Ah Forbes. One of the prominent MS mouthpieces....

Luc201h ago

Microsoft is finally... ahhh I've never heard this one before!

Petebloodyonion1h ago

LOL, this article is a big pile of dog crap...
Spencer has been constantly telling ppl that NO they would not go the route of having games like TLOU, Uncharted, etc because Playstation exists and prefers to focus on a diverse portfolio.

How many years have we seen Xbox as no game and we don't want small games like ORI, Pentiment, Grounded, etc.?

That's the real tragedy and why lots of gamers are mad at MS right now
because they have been championing smaller titles and yet fired the ppl delivering exactly what they were proning about.

So no the only nonsense is that MS seems now to be going BACK to AAA popular titles..sorry, I meant refocusing effort on core established IP where broken GAAS might be rewarded versus praised and rewarded work.

Einhander19721h ago(Edited 1h ago)

https://media1.tenor.com/m/...

You read an article cheerleading the end of big budget games and all the other articles about problems and this is what you have to say? That's what you think "the real tragedy" is?

I thought that xbox fans might finally "get it", but no, it seems they don't even understand what is happening and what is at stake.

crazyCoconuts1h ago

Hurray! No more big gam.... wait... what??
