I agree. Rationalization runs rampant on this site. I am somewhat of an idealist and at moments I succumb to my own ideological standing of the definition of utopia, but alas it seems that I am merely projecting my wishful thinking. I would hope that each individual, within this site, would be the "bigger man" but that is not the case and I fear never will be.
Only if money wasn't a factor we could all enjoy every system and every game. My how I wish this was possible for all. Then we can measure the quality of games and not systems.
I agree with you to a certain extent. On my first game play run I saw the cut scenes as a reward for my progression through the game, but on my second run they did seem quite longer than they did the first time. Kojima, in interviews, has stated that as a game designer certain concessions are made in order get the emotionally effect desired out of the player. I would have to agree because I have never been as emotionally moved, by a game, as I was playing MGS4.
I think we would have to define, as gamers, what a AAA title is. Most titles that get the most attention now are the ones with the most marketing budgets. I remember a time when a games were sold by word of mouth, but alas times have changed and gaming is now mainstream. The industry has come to a crossroads and must either adapt or perish. Most games that the general consensus would consider AAA are, to be perfectly honest, quite boring. I have played all these games before, albeit with...
February can't come soon enough. COD4 got boring relatively quickly and RBSV2 lagged way to much. I think Resistance 2 and Socom will be enough to tide me over until then.
Could not agree more.
Question: What could kill Mirror's Edge?
Answer: Game Journalists
A solid single player experience is infinitely better than a fun yet repetitive online game. In order for games, as a medium, to be taken seriously, we need to take a critical approach to games. Scrutiny is only justifiable if you have the evidence to back it up. Most, if not all, of these articles are rhetorical in nature and therefore meaningless.
This argument seems somewhat trivial. I have had many long and hard fought Wii Sports tennis battles. The kind that have you clear the whole living room and last as long as 45 minutes. I don't own a 360 but being hardcore is an approach you take to games not what games you play. I have spent countless hours in Soul Calibiur 4's create a character mode as well, tweaking everything on my characters to perfection. The avatars could potentially be a good thing if done correctly, but that doe...
Mind over matter. Crazy indeed.
I am surprised that no one is event remotely concerned about DD. If the world continues on its current course, watching anything that is deemed "noteworthy" you can and will be put on a list and you will be monitored. Credit was step one, internet was step two, and digitally transmitted information will be next. Used a library lately?
This sounds very interesting to me. As far as control mechanics go this seems kind of experimental. I see a lot of people not liking this but most sheep all want the same experience. I want something different for this gen and seems that Heavy Rain might be it.
If you change the control you change what makes Resident Evil, well Resident Evil. The control scheme in all the Resident Evils just adds to the scare factor because you had to think about what you were going to do ass opposed to react. I have said it before and I will say it again, to appeal to the masses is to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Resident Evil 4 ranks in my top ten games of all time and I hope to add Resident Evil 5 to that list as well.
One of the main factors, in my opinion, is the fact that this gens home console games take so much money to make. For some studios if a game doesn't sell well it puts the company in the red. So in order to make sure that games sell decently they stick to a generic tried and true formula to at least break even, hence the lack of innovative titles.
As far as Parasite Eve I don't really care how it plays I am just glad that they are actually making it for PSP and not cell phones ...
Padawan: Master I sense a disturbance in the force.
Master: I know my student I sense it too.
Padawan: What is it?
Master: It's fear guised in rationalization.
Padawan: Does it mean us harm?
Master: No. It only takes solace in knowing it exists.
Padawn: I don't understand.
Master: In time you will.
Well I hope they fix everything. Tecmo makes some good games and it would be sad if they go under.
That looked fun.
Well I hope he wins because I am tired of seeing Unreal Engine games. For the record I don't own a 360 but if I did I would buy Too Human. All you PS3 trolls need to chill who cares what this game scored. I love Dynasty Warriors and that game always gets bashed, but I don't care because I can and will make my own decisions. I suggest you do the same.
Define no replay value?
Had there been any good games at the time Gears of War came out it wouldn't have been as successful as it was. Aside from that, I think the muzzle was put on that never ending mouth piece Cliffy B and Epic has to do damage control to reduce the hype around this game.
Journalism is dead in all shapes and forms. Monetary value attributed to words by advertisement has rendered all "professional" opinions irrelevant. Adam Sessler and Kevin Pereira are tools plain and simple.
