Edit: apparently the permadeath is a complete lie that is mentioned at the beginning of the game just to create artificial tension.
Nevermind; not buying this afterall
I'm definitely gonna pick this up now that I know there's a very serious permadeath threat in the game. It frustrates me to no end to know that this mechanic bothers some people.... it's like saying "I don't want anything interesting ever!"
Never heard of this game until now but it looks gosh darn beautiful
Looks like the volumetric fog (also water) in Inside

except that tech is available to everyone. In fact, I have it right now installed on my computer. It's part of Unreal Engine 4, which is free and publicly available.
Avatar didn't have that because it was in 2009. But Star Wars Rogue One used that tech for their robot character

It's like people are suddenly realizing why DayZ was such a great game even though it was buggy as hell
This sounds excessively whiny to me. Just get over it
Oh that's actually interesting. A VR LA Noire spinoff would be very promising.
The amount of insecurity in some of these replies literally blows my mind. This is unbelievable
The game IS on PC too. It's the article that's at fault for partisanship here.
Nobody is making a political statement by saying they'll check the game out on a platform it is releasing on. Your reaction to this is completely ridiculous and fanboyish
please remove your tinfoil hat right now
The controls in the "gameplay" trailer are not representative of how the actual controls will be. This was "in-engine", but judging from how scripted the movements felt, it definitely wasn't actual gameplay footage.
Same goes for Metro Exodus, Anthem, Spiderman, and almost every other major game shown at E3. Showing heavily-scripted fake gameplay appears to have become a huge trend this year. I blame Ubisoft for that
I definitely see what you're saying.... but it DOES look beautiful. That storm/water at the end was just stunning
If they literally just take the original SotC and make it run 120 fps in HD, I will buy a PS4
If it's a complete remake that runs at 30 fps, I might pass
That's not so strange to me. I'm pretty sure most people are massively more interested in an SotC remake than an Ico remake
that's a bit ridiculous
The controversy is completely artificial. It's the kind of situation where people think "people are surely upset about this", but in reality almost no one is. It's just journalists looking for opportunities to write articles.
Yesterday's petition was very clearly a joke/satire/fake. If you don't believe me, please re-read the part where they say "Us gamers are sick of having our romantic advances being rejected due to our hobby". There is...
I will also add that a lot of the FC5 "outrage" seems to be just trolling and jokes. Now that I've read the whole petition, it really seems to be a joke, or a fake trick that some journalist has made so that they can write an article about it later
I don't even understand how people can be upset. What a bunch of hyper-sensitive babies
The funny thing is that these are probably the same people who call others "sensitive snowflakes" when they speak against negative representation of certain demographics in the media
At this point, even with a year break, the AC franchise still remains milked to oblivion and I can 100% guarantee everyone's gonna have the exact same experience of this game.
It's gonna be a good old stardard Ubisoft game:
- Big open world that is as soulless as it is large
- Crazy production values all focused on quantity and not quality
- No interesting concept whatsoever because the marketing team doesn't like when things get inter...
