So Microsoft's Phil Spencer says they don't know the resolutions or details of 3rd-party titles... yet Sony is able to confirm 1080p on Call of Duty: Ghosts on their platform? Sounds like Sony has a closer relationship with their 3rd-party partners.

Either that, or MS is just lying.

I have to agree with this. I absolutely loathe DICE and/or EA's tendency to hide any direct-feed gameplay footage of games on consoles. It's either because they don't want any platform graphical comparisons to be made, or they don't want to reveal that the game may run at a slightly lower resolution than 1080p.

Either way, it's bullshit. Just show the damn game already.

The article said that "total" pre-orders (including current-gen, PC, and next-gen, I presume) combined are below that of BF3. It also makes sense that if BF4 preorders have surpassed BF3's, then EA would have said that directly.

To be honest, the beta kinda turned me off of the game. I've put more than 700 hours into BF3, but BF4's beta did not impress me at all. I'm questioning whether I should keep my preorder (PS4).

@Yodagamer:

Some games might not work that well because they took out the pressure-sensitive analog buttons.

Can't wait to mod this sucker to my liking.

One of the first things I'll do is replace the concave thumbsticks with the original PS3 convex (dome) sticks, which I far prefer.

CBOAT from NeoGAF has been providing insider leaks about Xbox since 2005--both good and bad news. According to most long-time GAF members, he has a ~95% accuracy rate.

It would be wishful thinking to just dismiss what he says.

Hopefully, Call of Duty and Titanfall (if/when it comes to PS4) runs at full 1080p on PS4.

Fyi, NeoGAF thread where alleged Microsoft insider CBOAT talks about the Xbox One possibly going 900p standard for most games:

@cHaOZ_ZoNE:

COD4 DID have a paid DLC map pack (just one, however). As for your other points, mods and custom maps aren't standard features for console games anyway, so the vast majority of players weren't affected whatsoever.

@Veni Vidi Vici:

Again, the omission of dedicated servers was not an issue, because COD4 didn't have dedicated servers on consoles. Thus, the VAST, vast majority of players weren't affected. I understand...

I fail to see your argument. What "massive features" did COD4 have that future installments (MW2, Black Ops 2, MW3) didn't have?

@ape007:

The sad part is, Infinity Ward isn't even making Ghosts' multiplayer. Raven Software is in charge of developing that portion of the game.

Game is looking fantastic, if this video is any indication. Looks like I have to add another game to my next-gen wishlist.

The problem with COD's latest iterations (MW3 and Black Ops 2) is the horrific lag compensation algorithms being employed. These flawed lag comp mechanisms are meant to smooth out gameplay for laggy players or people with poor internet, but at the cost of gameplay responsiveness. Because of this, online COD has been mostly about connection and lag advantage for the past couple years, rather than skill, and that's sad.

Even Guerilla admits that Killzone 2 suffered from input lag.

Various sites did tests on the response time between a button press and when the requested action occurs on-screen (for example, pressing R1 to fire, and the subsequent muzzle flash), and Killzone 2 measured around 166ms (if I recall correctly), which is almost twice as much as competing 30hz games, or three times as much as the 60hz Call of Duty.

No duh, Sherlock. God FORBID you ever say anything even slightly negative toward Microsoft, or slightly positive about Sony.

@shadow2797:

A difference of one game? OMG, that's a HUGE difference!

That's a far cry from the idiotic fanboy statements like "most people only bought the PS3 for Blu-ray, duurrrrr." The fact of the matter is, even your own link shows PS3 gamers bought almost as many games as X360 gamers did.

Battlefield 3 has terrible input lag on the PS3. I hope it's not the same way for next-gen consoles.

Just fix the atrocious lag compensation that makes this game almost unplayable for me, and many others. It takes the skill aspect away from what should be a skill-based shooter, and makes the game incredibly random and frustrating to play online.

Black Ops 2 is the reason I'm renting every Call of Duty game from now on. If it sucks, I don't buy. I won't be ripped off again.
