Indepedant game shops? I imagine you're not very old else you'd remember the LARGE chain GAME coming onto the scene and buying stores next to true private owner independant stores and putting them out of business a number of years ago and creating a monopoly gobbling up other chains such as Electronic's Boutique and Gamestation. Now they are being squeezed by the supermarkets I don't have a lot of sympathy for them as they are reaping what they sow its dog eat dog.

Its called inflation, you can't carry on paying 1985 prices when the associated costs right down to the utility bills at the developers offices have more than doubled in the meantime. With games like GTA IV rumoured to have cost $100 million and Halo around $60 million this isn't a cottage industry anymore like it was in the days of the ZX Spectrum with people writing software in their bedrooms.

Gamers demand AAA titles so if you want a AAA title you need to pay AAA p...

It may well be that Steam gets the non limited edition version, all the talk in that press release is of the limited edition version. It gives them some room for manouvre, maybe squeeze Steam a little to give them a better deal and appease gamers who expect to be able to buy it on Steam so closer to release they announce it will be available on Steam...but..just the standard edition. For those who simply must have it on Steam they will buy it, for everyone else they get sales through the usua...

Why is it so hard to understand that for the average joe the engine would be too difficult to work with but for another developer like the one quoted to make that worthless blog post its easy for a developer who has direct access to the game engine's creator's to change things. I don't see why some corners of the PC gaming world think its their god given right to mod a game and for the developers to provide those tools.

Its a shame they couldn't use their knowledge to better use like hacking and DDOS attacks on the sites that send out spambots to spam online forums like mine.

I bought a lot of these games the last time Steam had a sale lol. Its all down to personal taste but I thought this has been the weakest day yet. Yesterday wasn't so bad, for anyone who didn't have it ARMA 2 was a steal.

Who will win? we the gamer will because we'll have two great games that cater for slightly different game styles. MW3 for quick reaction, close quarters fighting and Battlefield 3 with more open longer range fighting with vehicles. October and November can't come soon enough!

Can we have a collection made to help this poor gamer have his cataracts fixed? I'm guessing this must be why he thinks the 360 "wins hands down".

thanks, luckily I had an issue with Steam's online store that prevented me from buying, just checked back and so now I've removed it from my shopping cart

Anyone still playing this multiplayer? thats a pretty good deal so I might pick it up

I'm primarily a PC gamer but also own a 360 and PS3, I enjoy the exclusives on each platform but when it comes to multi platforms like Battlefield and Call of duty they always look better and run better on a PC. Where the PC loses out is in the social thing, having one friends list instead of having friends on Steam, Xfire, Origin, GFWL etc etc and sometimes having to rely on other third party apps like Teamspeak or Ventrilo where console versions have everything built in, though more and...

Its by no means a classic but its worth more than some of the silly low scores given by sites desperate for some hits. It's a hark back to a more simple time in FPS gaming, Duke is brash, rude, crude and in your face but thats what Duke Nukem was about, a parody of the then current crop of action hero's.

This is why Metacritic just doesn't work and when sites hand out poor scores like that it undermines the honest games journalists out there. Duke Nukem Forever is by no means a classic and will probably be consigned to the bargain bins pretty quickly but it's s slice of gaming history that harks back to a simpler time for FPS gaming. It's cheesy, it's not that good looking, the levels don't exactly inspire but it's playable and will entertain you. Maybe not as much as ...

It's nothing to do with stealing ideas or checking out the competition it was a PR stunt plain and simple and everyone has bought into it. The Battlefield 3 demonstration stood head and shoulders above MW3 and has got much much coverage. Kotick is a smart man and sees a way to grab some of EA/DICE's spotlight with this cheap stunt. I'll be buying both games but to me Battlefield evolves while Call of Duty is a rinse and repeat each year.

Its about time developers took PC gaming forward with better support for multi core processors. I'll be buying this game for sure but as FasterThanFTL says I hope they work on the animation as it is really poor, also the voice acting. I think about the very first mission and shudder where you sit in the helicopter and have that ridiculous conversation with a squad member whose voice is really disjointed with poor character acting and zero lip syncing. I know its a military sim but just do...

I had the same response from my bank

<Edit> Idiots hitting disagree, why? I was told by my bank there was no need to change my card, sorry if that goes against any hysterical "Sony are evil" views you may have but this whole thing is getting blown out of proportion.

Luckily I have my copy as I live in the UK but I've read a lot of US IL-2 fans are buying their copies from a UK company called Just Flight ( http://www.justflight.com/p... and then registering the key on Steam which allows them to download the game.

LOL we had the defiant rap video from Hotz who was going to take down Sony and ended up rolling over and playing dead, Anonymous who disrupted Sony's servers for a very short period of time before Sony adopted more security and Anonymous declared they would cease the attacks and protest at stores....which you guessed it ended in an embarassing failure. There is no facepalm or fail picture that quite conveys their utter failure. No homebrew, no otherOS, no thousands of hacked PS3's run...

Bubbles for a well made point, its not his money he has donated. He craves this attention and he's not learnt any lessons from this and continues to mouth off about it instead of counting his blessings that Sony didn't push this all the way to a potential prison term.

He's an attention seeking parasite. It makes me laugh when I see people say how Sony should have hired him, he wasn't even responsible for cracking the PS3 he jumped on the bandwagon of others w...
