Foor me it’s a bit of a disappointment, its more rFactor 1.5 than 2. I've turned some laps in the various cars and the handling is nice but its not leading me to believe its any better than any other serious driving game out there like iRacing for example. Graphically it looks like rF1 with hi-res textures which is quite a disappointment.
Closed beta is when testers are picked by the developers/publishers or some other system and the beta cannot be played by anyone else. Open Beta is when anyone can get hold of it and download and in this case anyone can purchase the beta and become a tester so it’s open. To say it’s a closed beta because you have to pay would mean any Xbox beta is closed because you have to pay for the service so the title is correct.
Regardless of that it’s a bit of a disappointment, its mor...
Stick a fork in it, RAGE is done. Huge disappointment.
Angry Birds is fun and I'm sure they will continue to regurgitate levels like Pysgnosis did with Lemmings but Tetris is really the king of puzzle games, it doesn't need level updates, its endless and anyone can play it and so thats why it gets converted onto every gaming format.
The Back to Karkand DLC is welll worth it. The layouts may be familiar in a good way but visually these maps have been totally revamped and they look fanntastic. I agree with the article writer that they really show off the Forstbite 2 engine compared to the standard BF3 maps.
Sadly this is not the norm, it should be though. If services like XBOX Live, PSN, Steam, Origian etc want to get serious about the integrity of their services and provide a good honest online gaming experience this kind of punishment should be the least cheats get. Ban their consoles, MAC address whatever because this chump who got 500 days will just buy a new XBL subscription and off he goes again. The publishers should work closely with the platform's they publish on and get consoles ba...
iRacing is the benchmark racing simulation, it does take a lot of practice to become a competitive driver there simply because a lot of the best PC sim racers race there along with a number of real life racing drivers. Its expensive but when you factor it against other hobbies its really not that bad but you certainly get what you pay for, properly licensed vehicles with input from the racing teams/manufacturers to make sure the virtual car performs correctly and laser scanned tracks that bea...
I disagree, the story wasn't really that stellar, it was confusing and for the most part consisted of running from one side of the city then fighting your way back through the way you had already been. It was tedious and boring to do this again and again. Reach was much more of an improvement.
I'll be buying it because I really liked the other Halo games (though I felt ODST was a bit of a let down and could have been an expansion pack). I have them all sat on my gaming shelf and play them every now and again just for old times sake but you have to remember that its been re-released and they wanted to keep it true to the original in terms of gameplay and level design, unfortunately time has moved on so its being compared to the latest FPS games.
In other words "damn I lucked out with Gears, Microsoft wanted an exclusive blockbuster so marketed my game to death, I couldn't fail but Bulletstorm was a flop and now I'm worried my next project won't have those microsoft millions to carry it through so I'll start slipping out a few excuses ready for me to refer back to in another year or two's time"
I can't see that ever happening with the current XBOX. I used to be a Logitech fan, still recommend their wheels to those on a budget but Fanatec and also Thrustmaster are stealing their market share big time. Fanatec has grown a lot in the last two years and although there were some bad stories regarding support (I always had very goood support from them) they seem to have got things moving really well with some great allbeit expensive products but you get what you pay for, this is high ...
I bought both for PC and 360. Play them both, enjoy them for what they offer.
It really makes me laugh the way some of you guys lap this up like its the gospel truth. EA release what is potentially one of their biggest releases this year and BANG out come the stories that paint EA in a bad light - what a coincidence! Oh what drama! a guy killed himself because of the working conditions so we are led to believe and once again out come the burning torch and pitchfork mob but then a few posts later and our 'mole' admits actually the guy was pretty depressed anyway...
Very laggy but its a start, my own interest would be for a replacement of my TrackIR unit so that I could do head tracking with the Kinect without having to wear a piece of reflective material. It works ok on Forza 4 but not brilliant.
Even more reason to stay away from CoD next weekend as the whole weekend will be taken up with XP glitchers.
Is it really much of a choice to make? Battlefield 3 or double XP on a game thats been out nearly a year and most people are sat comfortably at level 50 on whatever prestige level they got bored at.
The last few iD games have been not much more than tech demos to showcase the game engine in a commercial environment for their licensing partners. The engine got off to a bad start but since the patch it's much much better but iD wont be licensing this engine out beyond their publisher so they are left with a game that really didn't live up to the hype.
"The fact that all this runs at a constant 60fps with only the most minimal pop-in is an amazing achievement"
Did they even play this game? performance was poor until the special ATi Rage drivers were released and the textures still horribly pop up. I was really looking forward to giving this game some serious hours over the weekend and next week as I have a week off work but after tonight's showing even after installing the new drivers from ATi I'm shelving...
I'm enjoying the demo so far, can't wait for it to release next week
I'm a PC and console gamer and one of the arguments I used to use to my PC only gaming friends was that with console gaming there was no constant patching and that games were released in a good working state. Sadly since console's got online connectivity the quality of games has dropped like it did for the PC when the internet become more commonplace in the home. Publishers and developers adopted a 'release now, patch it later' mentality.
It’s shocking to see ...
