This is nothing new for universities with regards to new areas, and it's certainly not limited to the gaming industry.
If you have a PS3, you'll get R2. If you have a 360 you'll get Gears 2. If you have both you'll get both.

This article makes no sense. How would Vidzone even be an announcement whatsoever if the underlying reality was simply a Flash upgade?
If they were finally supporting Flash 9 (and god I wish they would), wouldn't the announcement be:

Actually, as much as I appreciate that the PS3 has a browser at all, they need to fix it altogether. I wish they'd pay some one like Mozilla to cook them up a more optimized app.

I had this video playing in the background so maybe I missed something, but I never heard him say it "has no competitors". Seems like the author here took that out of context pretty badly?
It was a great interview actually and very interesting. He's obviously a smart guy with a genuine vision for creating entertainment with real substance.

I don't know how it is in other countries, but here in Australia it's pretty pointless buying preowned games anyway.
Apart from when a game gets heavily discounted in a sale, which can happen with brand new boxed copies just as easily, EB sells preowned games here for only $5 less than a brand new one.
In Aus terms, that's $110 vs $105 for example. I don't know who even goes for it (I guess people do). Personally that $5 is easily worth a brand new disc.

Actually, I'll admit it could be interesting to see what comes next from a cashed up and confident Nintendo.
The GC was a direct competitor against the DC, PS2, Xbox, etc, and it got beaten down like an unwanted stepchild.
This caused Nintendo to produce a relatively cheap and underpowered console this generation with a completely different focus to its competitors. Everyone thought it was a gamble that was doomed to failure, but the complete opposite happened.

Orange Box on PS3 isn't AS GOOD as the 360 version, but it's still a fantastic game, and I'm more than glad that I got a chance to own it on PS3.
Sure, the sky walking hacks in TF2 are a bit silly (I've only seen it once), but the game feels great otherwise. Didn't have a single problem in HL2 or Portal for that matter, although I haven't played Ep 1 or Ep 2 which reportedly have some of the worse issues.
If Left for Dead turns out to be a good game, I'll grab it for...
The PS3 version is clearly a lot better, because that's what I own.
It would be awesome if the character retained their respective control types. For example Ryu vs Scorpian - Ryu blocks by holding back, scorpian blocks with central block button. That way it could be a real battle of the fans. Epic potential.

Real time character models ARE CG. you have the terms confused apparently.
CG stands for Computer Generated, and is a shortened version of the acronym CGI, which is Computer Generated Imagery.
FFXIII was a game I always expected to be graphically mind blowing, but with the amount of time it's taken to develop it I think people will be less impressed.
Not to say the graphics aren't excellent, but a lot of competition for cutting edge visuals has been released in the mean time, and when I look at these screens now I see nothing that surprises me or opens my eyes.
Seems like a shame. They obviously have some excellent tech worthy of high praise, but it's just...
