Pretty much, move along nothing to see here.. the game will be closed within a year anyway like Square always does with it's quick mobile gacha cash grabs
Maybe the worst of them but I imagine most couldn't care less and enjoying the game on their PCs.
This.. when he hits the mark, it's usually amazing, but when he misses.. it's complete dumpster fire.
@ fr0sty It's definitely not overpriced so to speak but it's still too expensive for the average gamer to take a chance on or impulse buy. It probably will always be a niche product but that isn't necessarily a bad thing as long as those who buy it continue to use it.
DOA? My friend has done nothing but talk about it over the last week. The new Firewall game, Crossfire which supposedly feels like Time Crisis VR, Resi 4 VR around the corner.. alongside existing titles like Villiage and GT7 which are supposedly some of the best VR games .
In before the "lol what sad people there are" comments
The only key difference, one is released properly and a complete full experience for the price of a game, the other requires a second mortgage to get everything.
Damn.. I'm going to need to stock up on popcorn at this rate
After Lost Ark and New World, I won't touch anything from Amazon now. The way they lock full servers stopping people from playing with friends and guilds etc completely turned me away.
I think the fact they blew most of us away with GTA 5 and instead of expanding on that properly, they focused on GTAO is very indicative of potential problems. I'm keeping the faith and holding out they don't disappoint but when you look at the money they've made with GTAO, I can't help but be slightly concerned on how that effects GTA going forward.
They're a bad game away from being transitioned from active to the EA graveyard. Playing Baldur's Gate 3 feels like a nostalgic trip back to prime Bioware and a sad reminder of just how far they've fallen.. How did they go from making so many classic games to garbage like Anthem?
Started terrible is an understatement , Battlefield 4 had a terrible start but it still felt like a Battlefield game. EA/DICE gave BF fans the middle finger with 2042 so we gave them the middle finger back. Maybe the game is in a great place right now but I couldn't care less, I washed my hands clean of that should have been aborted fetus, there are games far more deserving of my time developed by people who actually care about their fanbase.
And they try and try hard...
You obviously haven't played Destiny 2 in a long long time, I have many gripes with it but the core is the best it's ever been. Lightfall sucked big time with the worst storytelling in the franchise which is saying something but it still has retained a large amount of players due to the fact the core gameplay is just that damn good.
"You have an uncanny ability to turn little one-off stories into a tangential spiel with no ultimate purpose."
He probably learned that from MS.
Anything for a bit of easy PR.. meanwhile many of the game modes have gone untouched for years now, ask Pro Clubs players what they think of the current state of the game.
I played the originals back in the day but yeah compared to the overwhelming majority of modern games, this game is really difficult, this isn't just combat difficulty but overall accessibility too. I had to google how to change my party for example. You are forced to figure out so much of the systems, this isn't necessarily a bad thing but for the console release, they really need to do a lot of QoL improvements.
Neither of them really have that much competition though. Online shooters are the most saturated genre in the market.
Well it's hardly booming is it? Halo used to be one of the most popular online multiplayer games and is a shallow husk of it's former self. It's a shame as the gunplay is really good but they dropped the ball hard on it.
Sadly I've long since turned my back on DICE but I really hope this guy isn't working on the next Battlefield. What a completely stupid thing to say and the sort of attitude that will see the next Battlefield flop too.
FF14 took about 40-50 hours in before it goes from being a decent game to one of the best FF games. I don't get the whole complaints on the early game in Starfield though. Maybe it depends on the route players go, I choose to go the Vanguard mission route as soon as it unlocked which was like 2 hours in and the story from them and distinctive Alien vibe I got from it carried me through the early game while I was learning the systems.
