It's ridiculous
They defined the One as a media center hub but it can't even browse a PC share like the 360 can.
It's a joke and they need to fix it.
If they want to make some money off of the ability to stream media then sell me an app that does it.
$65 is fair for a media streamer app.
Allow me to stream my archive of music, TV shows, movies and other media to the device for pete's sake. And yes that means MKV's too.
My $89 Roku player blows the One away as a media player.
Microsoft has not made ANY profits from the division that houses Xbox, Windows Phones, Bing, Zune, Surface, Skype etc ...
Many investors want Microsoft to divest the Xbox brand and get back to core IT products and services that have always made them money.
The new CEO has already stated that this is a possibility if it makes sense for the company.
Sony has done just as bad (maybe even worse) since the PS2 era ended but they don't have the...
Microsoft is probably never going to get the money back that they have invested in the Xbox brand and their overall entertainment division.
This review seems about right as are the reviews for Ryse
They are tech demos which show off the power of the systems but have no depth or substance.
Don't worry folks Bethesda will release another game soon.
We don't know what the hardware failure rate is going to be on these yet.
MS has a larger box and a separate power brick but if they have 25 percent less failures than PS4 over the life of the device then it will mean less money wasted on returns and repairs.
MS took a bath on the RROD last generation and probably don't want to do it again.
Everything about the Xbox One is designed for profitability which has not yet been achieved in ...
Yeah nobody wants to spend $500 on a Netflix player.
These reviewers should just come out and say it:
The next generation will be all about having multiple gaming platforms.
Xbox One, PS4, PC, Tablets, Smartphones, Media Streamers, Laptops ... etc ...
I don't buy this "I can only afford one so I have to choose" BS.
If you can afford to drop $65 on games every month then you can afford both systems. Maybe not at once - but it's not a stretch for most gamers to...
This swayed me more toward the One than the PS4.
The PS4 is the perfect console to get in a few years when exclusives start to pile up.
The One simply looks like more fun to mess around with on those nights where you don't feel like shooting people in the face.
Because all of these games are repeats of the same BS we have been playing since the last generation released.
Think about it. All of these franchises were new when the PS3 and 360 launched
COD 2 and Battlefield 2 were relatively fresh at the beginning of the PS360 era..
Gears new ...
Assasin's Creed ... new
Halo ... not new but there was huge interest in a next gen Halo (Halo 3)
Dead Ri...
Doesn't each console her a burn-in / sanity check for quality before it gets boxed and shipped?
I'm skeptical
Next Gen started on the PC in like 2008
Welcome aboard consolers!
I downloaded both the PS4 and Xbox one BF4 footage and I thought they looked identical.
I wasn't impressed with either system's ability to do anti aliaising and the PS4 version had a brown fog covering the screen which looked bad.
The Xbox One had better darks / contrast.
So far from what we've seen these systems perform like mid-range gaming PC's which is pretty underwhelming.
That's fine
Then make your argument for consoles about the exclusive games and STFU about hardware specifications.
We're at a point now where you need to own every platform to play everything you want anyway.
You need a PC for all the MMO's and Minecraft.
You need a PS4 for all the naughty dog games and other PS exclusives
You need am Xbox to get a decent online MP experience as well as Xbox exclu...
That's what's so ridiculous about the console tards worrying about the specs of these new systems.
If you REALLY cared about specs then why would you game on platform that you're stuck with for 8+ years?
Makes no sense.
Just accept the hardware in these systems.
There's nothing you can do about it.
I liked it better when all you console retards didn't know anything about hardware specifications and just accepted your crumby low-end boxes.
If you want a box that blows away a PS4 or Xbox One then build a mid-range gaming PC.
Raise your hand if you're sick of all the nitpicking around game resolutions and you think the One will look and play just fine and that if you want the most powerful gaming hardware available then build a gaming PC and get a Steam account.
*raises hand*
I'd rather have better effects and textures at lower resolutions and lower FPS than 1080p just for the sake of 1080p.
I'm more disappointed that there's no ability to load an SSD disk into these consoles.
GTA V is the Walmart of games.
It serves up the cheapest product and appeals to the lowest form of consumer there is: Typical Americans.
If this piece of tawdry trash loses to TLOU for GOTY i'll be very disappointed.
Windows 8 may give you a little more streaming abilities but i'm pretty sure it still doesn't play MKV format.
