I just don't know that those games are "blockbusters". I'd like to see them do another commercial with Mass Effect, Bioshock and Halo 3.

there are no numbers to substantiate the claim in this article. I'm not saying it's not true, just that if you're going to make a claim like that, you should really provide evidence to support it.
although I'm sure that GoW2 is in the early stages of production. There's just too much life left in the first one to try and hype up a second one yet. Plus, with all the attention Halo 3 is going to be getting, they would have a little bit of their thunder stolen IMO.
my launch console got the red rings while the HDD was seated. They sent me a replacement in 3 days and that one has worked like a charm since. I really enjoy the console, but I will say that it's a little odd that they're skirting the red ring issue so much. The console is doing extremely well despite the problems, so why won't they just own up to any issue and move on? It's apparently not going to hurt sales.
but I'm not going to buy another one until they have a real innovative change. For instance, why in the sam he11 don't they include a TRUE course creator? I mean, picking and choosing holes from other courses and editing them just doesn't cut it. When they include that feature, I'll buy another TW game.
especially considering I traded in my copy of Legend after I was done with it. I'm curious about how much the retail version will cost as well, and how much later it will come out after the dowloadable episodes are made available.
It may end up being the new standard for any game. I'm still waiting to experience gameplay first hand, but it looks very, very promising.

until there is a clear cut winner. I'm completely happy with my DVD collection. Both formats are crazy if they think I'm going to run out and start buying over-priced hardware and media just to "upgrade" my library of movies. Plus, with the availability of so many HD channels and HD On Demand, who needs to buy a $20.00+ disc? That's not even including content available through digital distribution.
with the availability of On Demand services from cable providers. Couple that with digital distribution and it makes an uphill climb for Blockbuster, Movie Gallery, etc. DOCSIS 3.0 will provide broadband subscribers amazingly increased download speeds which will only encourage digital distribution. People are lazy, they won't even have to leave their house to get any movie they want.
as I stated above, I really think DOCSIS 3.0 is going to play a big part in bringing digital distribution to more people. It's going to greatly increase the bandwidth availability for everyone, which will lead to even simpler media downloads and distribution.
I agree with your point. I think Microsoft's ultimate goal in backing HD-DVD was to provide as much resistance as possible to Sony and Blu-ray. I'm sure Microsoft would much rather support digital distribution than any other format. It's something that would provide more profit for them. I think you're right in that disc formats will not be obsolete within 5 years. I think they will stick around a little longer than that. But honestly, I think this may be the last generation disc format...
it's great that Sony included GigE data ports on the PS3, but it's going to be a long time coming before we see GigE speeds to everyday Internet customers. So, all that GigE data port on the PS3 is good for is transferring data on your private LAN. By time GigE speeds are available for us regular customers, the next gen consoles will already be out. That being said, your argument about limited bandwidth and throughput availability on the 360 is moot.
this game is going to be out of control. I can't wait for it to come out. Between this, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed and Bioshock, it's going to be a great second half of the year for gaming.
This game is really looking great. I really liked the back seat cam and the weather effects are pretty damn slick, too.
that this game will kick serious a$$. I really think that it's going to redefine the RPG genre. Not to mention the fact that it's going to surpass most, if not all, games graphically. The detail in the environments and characters is amazing. Great stuff...can't wait.
I can understand your point of view, but I really think this is going to be a stand out title. It will get caught up to some extent in the Halo frenzy, but they're so different, and appeal to such a different audience that I think it will really stand out regardless. I just want to get my hands on it and play it already!
that the novelty of the Wii will wear off with the casual gamer sooner rather than later. That's why they're casual...it's hip, it's new, it's all the rage. Serious gamers on the other hand (360 and PS3 owners) will continue staunch support for those consoles long after the Wii has slowed down. I could be way off base here, but IMO that's the way things might play out. I don't want to discredit anything the Wii has done so far. I think it has far surpassed anyone's expectations, includin...
