but I think it may be the best game of all '07 (no offense Halo 3). GOTY from every impression. It just looks astounding. I really wish it was coming out sooner, but what can you do?

It looked stellar. I waited this long, another couple months isn't going to kill me. That will be two months of Halo 3 before Mass Effect. I can't complain too much.
I'm not sure why someone would disagree with you. I thought your post was very well thought out. I especially agreed with your point about the PS2. It may very well be the PS3's biggest problem right now. If the PS2 didn't exist, how many PS2 owners would pony up for a PS3? Thought provoking, if nothing else. I really think if MS dropped its price to, say, $199 (Core) $299 (Premium) and $399 (Elite) that would be a huge factor in sales. Pipedream? Yeah, probably, but you never know.
They're not concerned about contestants being able to snipe someone between the eyes in a true to life game like COD3, but chainsawing a fictitious alien race in a sci-fi fantasy game like Gears is WAY off base. Give me a break. Some of the double standards and political correctness is getting way out of control.
I've been a fan of the Turok series since it first debuted. Hopefully they will do this latest version justice.

I think you better check your numbers again. 360 has 22 games rated 8.5 or higher (6 @ 9.0 or better) while the PS3 has 6 games rated 8.5 or higher (3 @ 9.0 or better). That's straight from the Gamespot source you cited. I think that weighs pretty heavily in the 360's favor.
based on the performance of the Wii since launch, this shouldn't surprise anyone. I'm curious to see what happens when each console's flagship game(s) come out and how it will impact hardware sales.

MS has owned up that there is a problem, and have provided their customers a means of correcting it. Is it enough? Maybe, maybe not. Only time will tell, but at least it's a start.

I was beginning to have a hard time coming up with the money for all the titles I wanted to get. I can handle Too Human being delayed, but it would really blow if the Mass Effect rumor were true. I really want to get my hands on that one. I think you're right, they may just be trying to spread out what was becoming a clusterfvck of great games. Ah well, just as long as they keep 'em coming.
I think EA needs to reinvent themselves. They are far beyond stale at this point. It's a shame though...NBA Live used to be such a great franchise. But now they throw in the smallest little change and call it an innovative gameplay feature and expect you to throwdown for another edition. They've got some catching up to do.

As DOCSIS progresses (DOCSIS 3.0 w/ wideband) DD and VOD will continue to erode business from video rental companies and hardware sales. VOD is a very similar product to DD. The only difference being that one is streamed, while the other is downloaded. DOCSIS 3.0 w/ wideband will allow for much greater bandwidth to the end user. More bandwidth = more downloads.
