Roguelikes have never been dying to the best of my knowledge.
Am I missing something? Did Roguelikes get cancer?
You're more or less right. You could of course set up a control scheme in XPadder to allow mouse control with the console controller if you actually were interested in going that route.
@BitbyDeath
Wait. Wait. The platform that hosts games like The Whispered World, Dear Esther, Amnesia, and Minecraft is too 'gun oriented,' and that's why you're going to stick with the Killzone/Halo boxes?
And that's not even beginning to talk about the massive back-catalogue of strong games, the indie games that are too small to make it even on XBLA...
No offense, bro, but I think you don't know what you're talkin...
Except for one thing. A major upgrade to your video card on a PC (that is to say, a significant jump in performance) is between $150 and $200. Less if you wait until a sale day. Whereas a new console will run you $300 at least, when it's fresh. When it's cheaper than just upgrading, it's not as good.
That said, consoles are perfectly good for a lot of things. But to say "there's no point," LOL.
Textures are worse on WiiU.
Compare the gun skin (simpler on WiiU), scope reflection.
Of course the video's not exactly very high-res since they're using exactly 1/4 of my screen for each video feed. There's no wait to get a better comparison.
WHOLE COMMENT IS SPOILERS
That's not how I took the ending at all.
You're standing outside her window. Maybe she knows you, maybe she doesn't, but you're standing on her balcony watching her sleep.
She wakes up. Sees you. Who isn't exactly in a pretty position based on paragraph above. She runs.
The entire story, implied meanings aside, is about your unrequited love, which leads you to being a psycho. It w...
@ShaunCameron
Then why do they release things on Xbox 360???
:trollface:
but no seriously every game on 360 gets pirated.
Technology isn't the bottleneck because people keep finding ways to make old technology work better.
In a similar way, Twitter's character limit isn't the reason that novels aren't written on Twitter, because people keep finding new ways to make Twitter posts that are funnier.
LOL THAT'S A LIE.
Diablo III was the fastest-selling game in history. World of Warcraft was until recently the most played game on the planet (and may still be, but they're hemorrhaging players). The Sims 2 sold more copies than any Call of Duty title. Minecraft singlehandedly put one of the biggest new names in game development, Mojang, on the map. Battlefield 3 sold 20% of it's units in the first week on PC (5 million sales week 1; 2.3 on Xbox, 1.7 on PS3), only...
Mislabelled. Not Dark Souls PC.
@SP3333D-O See, that's exactly WHY I'm supporting them. I never expected a port that was "better" than the console version, and thinking it was going to be was wishful on the parts of a lot of people.
Namco is skittish about the PC market, being from an area where there essentially isn't one, and they're making a game that I as a PC gamer want to play. So just like if I was trying to teach my friend to bowl with me I wouldn't make fun of their po...
But... they DON'T want to be on PC. PC gamers (myself included) said "pretty pretty please with a cherry on top pleeeeease will you do us this one favor of porting your game" and they said "I suppose so."

REALLY....
They can't do 1080p at 30fps on consoles for most games. What makes you think rendering 60fps (two frames for every "frame") is going to work?
Someone really likes Bokeh. :X
But no, consoles can do graphics just as good as PCs. PC users are just elitists who are making shit up if they think graphics are that much better.
Right.
So... we're fighting Quelaag. Gotcha.
It's hard, and it can certainly be aggravating, but it's also important to note that it's (except for a few points) basically fair. It will punish you for making bad decisions, for being hasty, or for having poor reflexes, but (again, with a few notable exceptions) the deaths you will suffer will be your fault.
Which is my favorite thing about the game.
That's just not true. Bad writing leads to inferior content. A focus on graphics at the expense of writing leads to inferior content.
But if you can focus on both (and it can be done; see, for example: Batman Arkham City, FF9--which was incredible for the PSX, Witcher 2) then you can have a great game with looks to match.
@ALLWRONG you're right, Steam tends to cater to more modern games, and there are some game publishers (EA) that choose not to have their games on Steam. For the most part, anyone who wants on Steam can get on Steam. But older games that are not being supported as completely by their publishers still have an easy solution, too: GOG.com
@SolidSystem
Of course, that's because cutscenes are game-ruining elements when they DO anything. Cutscene losses are bullshit and always have been. If devs can't make a boss unbeatable in an actual game setting, then they're obviously not trying hard enough.
