Nobody praises John Romero ever since he made all those hilarious faux pas' with Daikatana and Hexen. He's kinda been a joke for over a decade, which is why I was a little surprised to see him on the n4g feed.
He is literally the number one example proving that you can ruin a solid legacy by making bad decisions.
If sports games were sold to PC gamers like they were are to console gamers...
You see the problem with this circular logic, right?
Please note, however, that Initial D is set entirely on backwoods mountain roads. And quite a few people are a huge fan of the Initial D touge concept.
Depends on how hyped you, personally, are.
There's no chance it's going to be so good that it needed 13 years.
The only thing we can really hope for is that it's a good, solid game that doesn't let everyone down (so no 'Duke Nukem Forever' outcome). I think, for most people, that would be enough.
Depends on your definition of AAA I suppose, but Outlast has already promised Rift support.
Linear-narrative-driven video games are an oxy-moron. The medium is built from the ground up for nonlinear interaction-driven narrative. If you think that MGS is "great" storytelling and if you don't like it then you're only suited for "mindless shooting" then you've obviously never played an RPG worth playing.
You are wrong on every level.
Fallout 3 was very buggy, and still is to this day, on PC as well as PS3 and 360.
It's still occurring. Read about TPP.
"No character development" lol
Only if you skip all the dialog. The characters are patchy as hell -- some are really interesting and others (here's looking at you, Irvine) are not.
But the main characters pretty much all develop and round out as the story goes on. Keep in mind, this is a story about teenagers and their hormones, mostly. It's easier to understand the story then.
@NukaCola: But multiple projects have gotten funded (some beyond even their wildest imaginings) and then later had to sheepishly admit that they needed additional funding from private investors, due to running out of money.
What happens when there's no private investor, and you don't see anything at the end?
Nothing happens. You're out of luck.
Remember: VGX is on the 7th.
The timer on the website is counting down to the 11th. This does not rule out the website being legitimate.
There seems to be some assumption that he was reported by too many people.
He's not just shut down, he's banned.
It's actually really standard viral marketing technique.
ARGs are one of the old school methods since the early 2000s.
@bryanm - That's one of the big things. They've denied multiple Fallout 4 rumors in the past. In this instance, they have explicitly declined to comment.
There's a lot of evidence suggesting it is, and a lot of evidence suggesting it's not.
Right now, the current theory stands that it is a viral marketing program run by AKQA, the same people who ran the "Prepare for the Future" campaign for Fallout 3 -- OR it's an incredibly elaborate and expensive hoax.
There is some evidence suggesting that the person who registered the website works for AKQA (the email address is the same as someone w...
The morse code was updated with two further dates: Nov 25 2013 (today) and Dec 1 2013 (6 days from today)
@hagla - And then your violent crime rate skyrocketed. Do I need more evidence than that, that it won't work? I don't think I do.
And it's not Half Life... >_>
What a boring article.
"I was initially angry because of how stupid it was to get offended that people would have sex with a prostitute and then kill them. It's not any different from anything else in the game, after all. Then I saw someone have sex with a prostitute in the game and kill the prostitute afterwards, and knew immediately how morally wrong that was!"
I've cooled on the Target thing because I don't care about GTA 5 or about c...
