If GTA5 were to come to Ps3 exclusively because of storage space, that would be a huge coup on sony's part on the necessity of blu-ray. Personally I don't think that is going to happen. If Gta5 is made in this generation of consoles, it'll be multiplatform. They've already had resounding success with this current business model, so it would be a foolish move to go back to exclusivity.
3rd parties bring in the most sales so yes MS needs more 3rd party support to compete with the juggernaut that is Sony. Having strong first party support is important as well, but taking away the exclusivity that sony enjoyed from 3rd parties last gen has helped MS immensely. Imagine if Tales of Vesperia or Star Ocean weren't on 360. Microsofts already low sales in Japan would be much much lower. Even here in the states having games like final fantasy and Resident evil grabs gamers that may h...
For whatever reason the 360 is not very popular in Japan, though it's good to see that Ms isn't giving up on the region. If they did we probably wouldn't see any jrpgs on the 360. Some of you would probably like that, but I wouldn't. I like seeing diversity on the consoles.
Lost Planet's sales numbers still amaze me. For a not very hyped game and for the most part average game, it sold quite a few copies.
I'd like to see a link to prove those numbers. I believe the ps2 had sold substantially more than that at 2 years.
Seeing as the 360a and ps3 are close in sales and the wii almost twice as much, no the ps3 most likely won't sell as many units as the ps2. I believe the ps2 sold so well mainly due to the lack of competition. Nintendo had a poor console showing last gen and the xbox arrived a year late and with too few games.
Same was true of Gta 4 yet many on n4g apparently didn't like it. On topic though, this game looks awesome and I can't wait to play it.
I hope they've fixed some of the technical issues that were found in the first game. Sometimes it would take ten seconds or more for the textures to load.
Jade Empire is an xbox orginals download, and if you have Kotor its backward compatible.
A wasted effort by not fixing the deeply flawed d-pad. I'm playing fallout 3 right now and it's a huge pain trying to use the quick select feature. See, it's not only fighting games that suffer from this problem! Like many have said before me, it's a fantastic controller aside from the horrid d-pad.
What's funny is that Halo was originally intended as a RTS.
Kind of funny you say that seeing as how the fps genre began on the pc. You don't like pc gaming, don't play on a pc, but I don't know why people can't use a keyboard and mouse configuration on their consoles if they want to. If you're afraid of cheating, just get better with your controller.
For those afraid that the sensitivity could be jacked up, couldn't the developers not allow that. Killzone 2 was developed primarily for the the PS3 and was designed with the dual shock in mind. I see this being more useful for games like call of duty and valve games.
Yes AC was repetitive, but it was also a damn fun game. Incredibly detailed cities and the ability to climb almost every structure really set the game apart. I would appreciate an inventory and the ability to use different weapons in the sequel though. The three options you had in the first just weren't enough.
I've never played this game, but coming from the Katamari creator is a good sign. It seems even kookier than Katamari but for 5 bucks it seems reasonable.
That's cool. I never played Oratorio Tangram but I did play the Saturn version back in the day. I loved the more arcadey action as opposed to the drudging sim aspects of the Armored core franchise.
edit: is this confirmed for the states?
It may be something like Shadowrun. Not a fps but a 3rd person action game set in large environments.
This exclusivity talk is nonsense. Lost Planet came to PS3 so why wouldn't the sequel as well. I don't know if they will release simultaneously, but I'm almost certain it will appear on PS3.
Obama's not ripping on video games, he's just saying parents need to be more responsible for the education of their children. Someone to help with their homework and turn off the tv or games when they need to study.
Halo has only had four games, so its hardly a beaten to death franchise. Look at Final Fantasy. It's had like 30 games and it's still going strong. If a game is still fun and people keep buying them, there's no reason for them not to make more.
