TMNT still looks like a ton of fun. Moss is the other game from this bunch that I'm interested in, rest are most likely a pass for me.

They did just acquire Fireprite recently, they might want to get everyone under the same roof eventually.

I'm sure Sony knows how to handle their money better than *checks notes* NotanotherReboot on N4G.

Whoa, hold up a second. That's some incredibly flawed logic you're using there.

Just because there are Series S consoles sitting on shelves DOES NOT mean Series X consoles must be selling a lot better than Series S.

It was in the news a little while ago that the sales of Series S surpass Series X.

Being biggest is also not relevant to me.

Best is very subjective and I personally have no interest in 95% of Activision and Bathesda IPs.

Ghostwire just had a showcase the other day.

There is a difference between "intentionally made something look worse" and "weren't given enough time to make something look as good as it could".

Could they have used more time to polish up the game? That's undeniable for just about any game out there but to say they intentionally did it is misinterpreting the situation.

I'm always in favor of delays to get a better product in the end but that is not always an option the...

I don't think any developer out there is intentionally making their games look worse. It seems like such an ignorant thing to say. Whatever they have to gain from their partnership is NOT even close to what they have to lose by releasing a worse looking game.

Just because someone is a developer doesn't mean they know the ins and outs of another development team.

I do agree with the overall point that these partnerships for tech are not necessary a...

I like to play games, I honestly don't care how much revenue any of these companies make and neither should you.

They still have a lot of work to do to prove themselves. They now cater to a budget gamer demographic with the Game Pass. Nintendo and Playstation are still the places you go to if you want a high quality experience.

I don't see that changing anytime soon since they are leaning into Game Pass even more. They still have nothing that compares to the quality of the recent Playstation Studios games. Being the cheapest way to play new games will only get you so far. People t...

I think this is one of the reasons I can't see Square being bought out by Sony or anyone else for that matter. They have a really strong relationship with Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft in their own and unique ways.

I thought it was actually a pretty good show and I'm not even a Nintendo guy. They showed off plenty of new games, even the author of the article says there were at least 3 great showings by his count. Perhaps it's the expectations that need to be adjusted here.

We're past the E3 day where we had one big show in the year and silence for the rest of the year, I think publishers are finding new ways to announce and deliver the information.

I think multi-player games are built around it. I don't think many single-player games are. Assassin's Creed Origini's microtransactions don't make the game worse though. Which is my point.

They are there but entirely optional. I don't think I have bought any microtransactions for Assassin Creed games and I've played and 100% most of them.

Edit: Noticed your second post after my response.

The criticism here sho...

That's correct, it got changed though because of the backlash. That's great and exactly what I expect to be done when a game steps out of bounds. They need to have their wrist slapped.

Just a mention of microtransactions shouldn't be a contention point at this moment in time since they are everywhere. We lost that battle long time ago.

If this game ends up having terrible microtransactions, I'll be right there with all you guys voicing my...

I get what you're saying. We're getting into complicated issues now that I have no answer for.

Just to be clear up front, I absolutely hate NFTs and everything they stand for.
However, to play a devil's advocate here, should I be the one to tell the developers not to put them into games? I like to think of it as a democracy here where majority should have a say and in the NFT case, I feel like majority is against them. Which makes it a bit easier.

I agree, you kick it back each time you don't buy anything. Vote with your wallet. They will stop doing them When it's not worth putting in the development time into them.

I just think that the reaction to microtransactions tends to be overblown most of the time. They are so easy to ignore in most games.

958d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

Which game suffered from microtransactions? Do you have an example of a single-player game that's suddenly good because you bought microtransactions?

I don't recall any recent games where microtransactions ruined the game. You can ignore them in every single-player game and you'd be just fine.

People are allergic to the term and just love to repeat what the mob mentality keep saying wheather it's true or not.

958d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

I feel like people might be jumping a gun here. It seems everyone is allergic to the term microtransactions.

There are plenty of single-player games with transactions. Complaining about it without actually seeing what it pertains just seems like a fake outrage to me.

Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Square Enix, etc. There is too many to name. These companies have been doing microtransactions in their games for over a decade now. This is nothing new.

Picking a character and sticking with it just works better in my opinion. Ubisoft is now getting people upset because of that crossover event and people not being able to play with their character of choice.

Not once have I thought Aloy should be a male character, it just wouldn't have the same impact.

I would much rather have a stronger and better crafted story than an option to play with both male and female characters.
