The only anonymous thing in the article are the initial comments from developers at the studio that don't want to be identified for obvious reasons and the fact that Derrell Gallagher responded gives the article more than enough authenticity.
Have to hand it to Orchard though, that guy works day and night to report any article that might paint Microsoft in a negative light. I just hope he gets paid for all the hard work he does on here.

Without a doubt, should have just canned the game in my opinion. You don't bring on a team to co-develop a game halfway through development unless there's something fundamentally wrong.
I imagine both The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics are working on something they don't want to be working on right now. Terrible for morale, productivity and eventually the quality of the game.
I think since those are boxed sales they can make that distinction between the two products.
Still trying to make sense of the numbers, in that particular article PS5 is selling more than PS4 by a significant margin while Xbox One is selling higher than Series S/X. Just really curious as to why this happens.
It doesn't seem like a great sign for Microsoft that their latest console sales aren't shifting units as well as their previous console.

Microsoft has always been a creatively bankrupt entity. Before they made all their recent acquisitions, Rare was really the only studio that actually did something new, creative and exciting.
If we look at their games that came out in the last few years, they just lack creativity. Forza, Halo, Flight Simulator, Age of Empires etc. These have all been done before, which doesn't mean they are bad but they just don't really spark any creative excitement either.

Not surprising, if you're bringing in another team to "help" in this capacity, it was bound to happen. We still don't know anything about this game but this just makes me think the game isn't coming out anytime soon.
They might want to consider just cutting their losses here and scrap the whole project, I don't think a lot of people were asking for a Perfect Dark game in the first place.
I think internet plays a role here. Not everyone can download 80GB on a whim, people take this for granted but that's still a limitation that games have over other media types that can scale the quality to lower the file size.
That's fine as long as all the games are held to that same standard. If you want to put technical issues aside you can't pick and choose which games get dinged for it. Nintendo games get a pass since Wii.
Without a doubt it's there to give people a taste of the game. One key difference is that Godfall was counted as one of the free games while this time around they made it a bonus free game. Which make a ton of difference when it come to perception of the offering.
It speaks volumes about you, not about how good Elder Rings is. I'm not trying to troll or anything but should definitely spend some time thinking about why it's annoying you because it really shouldn't.
Consider for a moment that you're annoyed that a game you haven't played yet isn't getting the score you feel like it should get based on your excitement level for the game, see no problem there?
I read the comment and just chuckle because I know Guerrilla Games devs will be playing Elder Rings and From Software devs will be playing Horizon. They will play both great games and you will only play one because you chose to be a fanboy.
Thought it was a great month before Ark was confirmed to be in there as well. This is fantastic, putting Legends in there as an additional bonus game helps because it always feels weird putting a portion of a game on Plus.
Hope people give it a try, Ghost of Tsushima is one of my favourite games and this mode was fun and had plenty of unique elements. I think at the minimum, check out the story and raid content because there's some really neat things in there.

Is there a logistic reason we always see the PS4 and PS5 sales reported as separate while Xbox sales are clumped together?

Just take my money! I'm so glad this is a thing, I still remember playing most of these on their original consoles!

That's right, there is a 2v2 mode in there as well but it's mostly co-op.

8 is still a great score regardless...

It's going to be glorious!

Looks like it's going to be an amazing year for games. Glad to see Elden Ring is doing so well.
If you didn't buy the game and have no interest in it, why would you come in and comment on an article about a missable trophy for the game?
If I went into every single article I wasn't interested to say I don't like it, I'd be wasting a lot of your and my time on senseless comments.
I keep going back and forth on wheather to buy Ghostrunner, guess that won't be an issue anymore.
Looks like a solid month. I'm not personally into kart racing but I've heard great things about that Sonic game.
Legends is free for the owners of the full game, otherwise you have to pay for it. I think it's around $20.
It's a great mode, I spent about 100h on it but giving a portion of the game always seems weird to me for Plus.
Certainly Playstation Germany can do better. This is so bad it's hillarious. There has to more to this story, right? Right? Right....
