Well we're now seeing a lot of the previous xbox owners converting to the PS4 so there might be some truth to that.
@MCG, Funatic1
" “It was extremely helpful to have the designers of some of the top FPSes on our controller design project,” Cerny concluded."
So the developers from the "top-selling" FPS (not so hard to pin-point **hint: they're both working for Activision) who helped designed the controller somehow have a worse perception of advising than you? Your fanboyism is so unreal.
@badkolo
Have you watched the video? They explicitly said the gameplay felt good.
Indeed, it's incredible the amount of straw grasping they've resorted to. The game looks and runs well, gameplay-wise is still on the cards and hopefully further hands-on experience may alleviate some concerns.
As for the CAPCOM criticism, can't we just wait till more details have been released? It's not like they've let off the hook. Meanwhile, Konami' shoddy and money grabbing attempt at the SH HD collection is somehow overlooked with these people...
It has nothing to do with being an adult game. Mature rated titles tend to have a higher budget than the lower age-rated ones. In the end, it all boils down to risk, content and application of the game mechanics & visuals that makes up the final review tally. Mature titles ended up taking that title, but hey there's still hope, for instance: Journey. Probably the only E-rated title that won GOTY.
Kart Racing & Rally as well. BTW, I've heard the AI companion in the Rally actually marked down the mathematical formulas in real-time. I need more verification.
Oh, and doesn't GT6 have that Spain area for racing customization for online? Jesus, this is not even part of the "update" you hold on to so pathetically. Please, tell us how Forza is driving the simulation series forward when all they do is play it safe? *pun intended*
An "incomplete" GT that has more features than Forza. But hey, it's not like the simulation and racing aspect is taken away.
Deep Down!
Answer: Downsampling. Look it up.
Stop embarrassing yourself. Please go take a look at the recent few years SONY supported with it's AAA titles from Infamous 2 to the unexpected TLOU. Why are you acting as if those teams disappear? Last I checked it took 3 FUCKING years before we saw a Killzone & Infamous on the PS3 and now they are at the FIRST quarter on the PS4.
Seriously, get off your high horse, would it hurt to have indie titles get their spotlight? Jesus.
@The_Klank
The answer is right there in the pudding. This is Ubisoft we're talking about - the undisputed KING of bloated content.
This is why their games have so many repeated content to make the games last longer especially open-world ones: Go here, activate small objecive, climb tower expand map, rinse & repeat. With next-gen they're going to do that 10x more hence... more
budget.
I believed it was confirmed that Native Vita touch screen support will not be supported with VitaTV. So no Tearaway on the TV.
@ElementX: So what exactly is the standard for using the RAM might I ask?
I'm pretty sure this is a big problem with ignorant armchair developers believing a game must be like Crysis/Uncharted/GTA in order properly utilize RAM. I admit I know next to nothing about game development but I'm pretty damn sure that you can do a lot of "background" things with the RAM even if it isn't so apparently obvious - if not - confused by "optimization" pro...
You would think after TLOU people would get the message that ND is very capable of delivering new IP to the table in spades. Who knows, their new IP might blow Uncharted away and the fans that tried to dismiss the notion would suddenly want the sequel of the NEW IP etc etc.
Please.... don't restrict the creative abilities of already the top developer this gen. This is not a studio that relies on IP but rather their talent.
What people seem to be missing here is that this is ONE of the factors of why there games "exclusive" to one console.
It is not so ho-hum as many fanboys like to believe that developers want to limit their marketshare. No. Sometimes, it's just as simple as getting rejected by a publisher.
So the next time you all go "bu bu bu bu bu bu I don't want deh deh deh exclusives in da platform I hate" just remember YOUR platform holder m...
Don't worry, let them have their cake. Once the Naughty Dog's, SSM, Guerilla Cambridge and other Sony studios announces their games - it will be back to the caves from whence they came to find it filled with crows to sustain themselves. Going by from the rate SONY pulled themselves up from 2009 up to this late, it's going to be a very very painful reality they would have to face.
Well, knowing the game would have "heists". I would figure these buildings would have 3 - 5 floors worth of surface area, so that actually counts as well. Not to mention the houses you will buy, the gyms, the fast food joins, the clubs, bowling alleys, etc.
@NukaCola
The devs said that the whole game will have the "area volume" would be bigger than RDR & GTA4 combined. This includes indoor and the underwater sections. Considering the sea is practically as big as San Andreas, that actually tallies up the volume.
LOL! This is the most vague review you'll ever see and you can tell he/she wrote it off based on the trailers released so far. Heck, this is the kind synopsis you usually see at the back of the case.
@srd4484
I believe your scope for "easier-to-develop" is an extreme example.
But let's use the recent games for the current generation as a reference point:
GTA5, Halo 4, TLOU. Let's say that these games are the highest budget-to-tech ratio that practically took 7 years in the current-gen scenario.
Let's go earlier and what the technical showcase for the PS3 was: Killzone 2 & Uncharted 2, Infamous -...
