Exactly, many are forgetting that many many indie and mid-tier titles are already having linux support. In the end, it all boils down to content. Sure, the library wouldn't be so significant in it's current state but a few years down the line we're talking a huge amount of content that even AAA developers simply cannot ignore.
That is when SteamOS will start to have it's support faster than ever with it's open source drivers and the like and not regula...
Flop? It's absolutely free and optional.
How does this happen anyways? Don't you just go directly the PS+ tab AND selecting THE FREE GAMES TAB?
Or do people actively just search the damn game and immediately download it. I mean for crying out loud the UI is clunky as hell, enough time for you to observe whether or not you provide the purpose or not.
I agree on the notion that downplaying the score because you don't like the characters is extreme, what I'm pointing out is that this particular argument will be thrown outside a window when it comes to exclusives.
Wow, I've never seen comments so up in arms with the GTAV score. Had this been an exclusive for a PS3/360 you would immediately see bipolaring remarks. What happened? Is the game the holy grail of gaming you all make it out to be?
@Foxtrot
Article is misleading. At NO point did he say the 360 was better, only prefered due to the "familiarity", here is the full quote:
"If you were to ask me if I would play games with the Steam Controller…I would say yes. If you were to ask me to choose between Steam Controller and a 360 controller, I would choose 360. Don’t take that as slight to the controller though because it’s more about the comfort of familiarity over functionality....
@gaelic_laoch
Unlike "Kinect", this controller is meant to play the entire library of Steam games.
False equivalency much?
@kickerz
You can start by disassociating from the Dude420 alumni.
@pintheshadows
You consider the current controller "fixed"? Your standards are so unbelievably low no wonder many are migrating to PC due to the significantly superior controls on shooters and playable genre's like RTS or simulators.
Valve is doing something that can actually bridge such a gap but likewise met with near-sighted criticism.
Dear Templar,
They own the largest DD-library of games at their fingertips. Don't you think they would've tested each an every possible genre imaginable?
Sincerely,
The common-sense community
Point being, the controller is now the "default" input for FPS considering it's "limitations". It's not a gimmicky tacked-on extra that is considered an optional approach compared to MOH on the original PSX pad.
Arma's multitude of inputs can then be refined properly if the trackpads and inputs work as advertised. This would make the game far more accessible without sacrificing game design principles (since it wasn't meant to be built for...
The "vibration" you are talking about is Haptic feedback. It's the one thing this trackpad has that allows you to orient your "D-pad" where and how you want to go.
Imagine simulated games like thief that require to hold the "shift" to run up ramps can now be accurately used with the trackpad depending on speed and precision.
Compared to the analog sticks where the deadzone aspect is much wider wouldn't be as feasible if...
Wasn't a similar thing said about Halo?
Why not? The unlike the analog sticks where it has always default on the center, you can directly push the direction where you want to go. You are now longer "anchored" with the analog stick to zig-zag through directions, so it's like a more 360' d-pad if I may say.
So if this is what it's supposed to be running on "next-gen"? What exactly are the running on current-gen? 480p/30fps?
Ai Shinosaki. Now go do some reasearch!
It's a stupid title. Nowhere did they say they've utilized the entire GDDR5 memory. They simply implied the released RAM spec gave them the space needed without unnecessary optimizations to get the game running.
Where exactly was his game charging at full price? Last I checked, almost all Japan Studio games this gen charge $40 less, the recent one being Puppeteer. If he charges $60 for the game then it is up to the previews and reception to see if it fulfills that quota, otherwise your just speculating.
So you expect someone who leads a small development team to equalize the output through a AAA development budget. I've heard it all people.
Next up? Why aren't next-gen games having that much content and scale with GTAV, isn't that running in current-gen consoles? This makes no sense, I guess every fucking developer is pretty weak sauce developing next-gen right Bundi?
Except that, we already have impressions with developers and every single one of that has had a positive thing to say about the controller. So, while the opposing argument can be relevant, it is, as of now not in the winning position.
