I imagine Carmack is planning on RAGE competing with PS3 exclusives graphically...
I really enjoyed Fable 2, hated the first and haven't got round to playing number 3 yet.
Strangely, you'd think a funny article wouldn't need to inform its readers of its humerous nature by using the word "humour" in the title, though this really did. Even knowing that, I didn't raise a smile...
A fair point, there are only a handful- besides the Bioshocks, Half Lifes and Portals, the Halo series and Call of Duty series are actually pretty consistent and very respectable and there are some you wouldn't expect such as Left 4 Dead.
It is a shame that the most immersive of viewpoints- first person, is rarely used to tell a great story.
But still, I just couldn't continue playing Bad Company 2 single player- the missions were so boring and unorig...
The reason I, as a 360 gamer, am pleased with Microsoft's offerings this year is that they are catering to many people very successfully- strong casual efforts, some genuinely impressive uses of Kinect (Child of Eden and Fruit Ninja), new iterations of some of their biggest franchises, a ridiculously strong Summer of Arcade (you talk of these very highly regarded exclusives as if they're unwelcome) and the obvious lineup of multiplatform games (Skyrim, RAGE, Arkham City, BF3, MW3, MGS...
Well, I have a ton of fun playing my 360 and have done the last few years too. There are too many games for me to keep up with. Maybe fun is what the 360 has going for it. Beyond Kinect I'm looking forward to Skyrim, Gears, Halo and Arkham City this year. Don't act as if Kinect is something to be ignored- it is HUGE. Kinect is the reason the 360 is the only console not just producing more of the same.
It seems the only people who seem concerned about the 360's lin...
I was originally super pumped for BF3. I was a huge fan of BF2 and the Bad Company series, but compared to upcoming sequels such as Skyrim and Arkham City, it feels as if little progress has been made with Battlefield. Let us not forget also that Battlefield's attempts at single player campaigns are simply dreadful- some of the worst video game writing I've experienced.
Couldn't agree more; looks as if they're learning from their mistakes.
ODST is up there with Bioshock and Half Life 2 as my favourite first person shooter campaigns.
Still buy vinyl and still buy real games; always will. When we have nothing but identical iPods and games consoles, a loss of power rids us of our legacy and our identity. Digital photo frames, ebook readers, computers filled to the brim with digital films- we will have nothing to show for ourselves.
Ace.
I was dissapointed EA bought Popcap and Origin is just another annoying extra service like Games for Windows Live- I'll stick with Steam thank you. Saying that, EA's other ventures are pretty solid these days. I'd be very happy to see the current generation continue for a couple of years as I still have a big list of games to work through with a stupidly strong lineup for the rest of the year only making it worse.
This is a really good use of Kinect I think. Got hooked on this on a friend's iPhone a while back and this actually looks really solid in comparison to the iOS version. Certainly not enough to warrant a Kinect yet- but this is a step in the right direction.
Weird typeface choice for the image- I recognize it from Generation Kill. It doesn't really work here...
That's a shame, lots more fun to be had by the looks of things.
Not going to watch it. Left 4 Dead as a game is an amalgamation of so many aspects of the greatest zombie films ever made. It never takes itself too seriously as it is filled to the brim with zombie clichés and that is all part of its appeal- making a film based on a game based on cliché is unnecessary.
I had a play on a trial over the Christmas period, having not played for a long time, even before Lich King and found the game to be so vastly improved I barely recognised it. It really feels deserving of its legions of players now.
What's even more stupid than ignoring the PC as the obviously superior platform however, is claiming the PS3 version was at all better than the 360 version. I would be hard pressed to claim either superior, but considering the graphical bugs at the release of the Playstation release, which was when I played it, I'd go with 360.
I'm slightly ashamed to be in a position in which I am capable of comparing all three formats, as somehow I ended up owning the game for a...
And lets not forget when servers used to kick/ban Mac players. Lots of TF2 guys are nice, but most just won't shut up about how much more mature and cool they are than the CS crowd.
This isn't something any video game company should be boasting about. All it would take is Microsoft or Nintendo to spend more money and Sony's 'gene' is void; the PC already makes this statement seem silly. Having a very expensive, powerful machine isn't something to be particularly proud of- they should be touting their years of consistent releases and strong 1st and 2nd party developers.
Especially as until this generation, they haven't been known f...
All the 360 and PS3 fanboys are arguing in the other articles. The PC players are probably too busy playing Counter Strike to come comment...
Counter Strike 1.6 and Source are the most fun I've had playing multiplayer games. I recently built a new PC after a couple of years with a Mac and I'm so glad to be playing CS again.
