Wow... that looks terrible. I even liked the first Saints Row alot. I though I was missing something when I didn't like 2, was told I was crazy for not liking 3 even more, and this looks worse somehow.
GTA V will erase this series. Which is sad. But, the super-jumping/super-speed-runn ing? Seriously? This was done in Spiderman/Hulk/Prototype. Adding dildos and dubstep guns doesn't fix gameplay.
I still play GTA IV on the PC and record awesome video clips... I hear you loud and clear.
Rockstar has ruined gaming for me, and at the same time, they have made gaming better than ever.
Really? "More weapons, tattoos"... "More cars"... "More locations"... come on, why write an article if you aren't going to apply thought:
So... what would Rockstar do for the DLC? Perhaps more in line with a something a bit more future forward:
- Think about the Contracts mode in Hitman. What if they did something like this in GTA V? A competitive assassination challenge... make your own scenario type of model. Pick a locati...
When his fight against crime and Franklin and Trevor and Mr Michael is also shocking!
Hahahaha. Really? The "chatter" of people with superior hardware is that bothersome to you?
Do our exponentially faster GPU's keep you up at night?
If you saw GTAV on a monitor that exceeded 1080p, with the full graphics options turned up, I'm certain that you would never be able to return to the sub-par land of consoles.
And if you did, you would always think "Damn... if I could just play the PC version. This looks ...
I think Rockstar used GTA IV's DLC as an experiment for GTA V (3 characters w/ unique stories, co-existing in the same game). In fact, I think they used almost all their games in the same way. Max Payne 3, Table Tennis, Red Dead, LA Noire all have the best pieces plucked out and placed inside of GTA V.
So... the DLC? Perhaps more in line with a something a bit more future forward:
- Think about the Contracts mode in Hitman. What if they did something like...
"Learn the difference"? Hmmm... I'm not sure you truly understand yourself.
So, what exactly is it called when a superior version of a game is released, months/years after the initial version of the game is released? A port has little or no modifications made to it.
Graphically, GTA IV was FAR SUPERIOR than the original console releases. Massive edits were made and the game plays and looks way better than the originally released version. New t...
It sucks to see any hardware/software fail in this economy... but, Nintendo continued to be blindly loyal to its US fans.
(Even after most of their fans grew up and went to highschool.)
I could easily argue that the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast brought far more value to the gaming world than Wii U... or the Wii for that matter... the Wii U just seems irrelevant.
Untrue. Bully and Manhunt were both brought forward onto next gen consoles.
They also did an amazing job with Midnight Club 2 on the PC, while the sub-generation version of MC2 was released on PS2/Xbox.
You are 100% correct. Next Gen won't be announced until they sell the 15 million min. goal for current gen.
Tying it to DLC is brilliant.
And like I've been saying this whole time, if they allow for "Shared Saves/MP Progress" across platforms, they will clear 25 million sales within 12 months.
By the way, to the people who are begging for R* to release this on PC/Next Gen. Please stop. Do you really think they comb through...
I still think that Rockstar can turn this division into an opportunity... keep everything stored/saved within user's Social Club accounts.
If I buy the 360 version in Sept... get 75% completion, then have the option to load my game on the PC version or the Xbox One version... keeping my multiplayer perks/singleplayer games, that would boost dual sales significantly.
@skept3k hit the nail on the head.
Why isn't Rockstar confirming/denying PC/PS4/XboxOne versions of the game? If they confirm it, current gen sales will dip. This is easy money for them... more importantly, easy money for TakeTwo investors.
If they deny it? Well, they'd have 3 petitions on their hands and a ton of pissed off fans.
A trio of next gen GTA V variations will be released. Likely with additional features to boost multiple...
Sorry homeboy, while I do think that some* screenshots that circulated early-on may have been taken from a developmental version of GTA V running on a high end PC... the gameplay video is in fact PS3 footage.
Your usage of the word "FACT." is just plain wrong.
I wish it wasn't. I'd pay twice the price for a PC version of GTA V. It is the only reason why my Xbox 360 is still in my house, collecting dust.
FACT.
Kudos to Steven Burns (VGSteve) for a well written article. Injecting thought into what he wrote and stitching together elements using critical thinking.
It is sadly common now for articles to simply be recycled... copy and pasted PR pieces for the masses.
Refreshing to read something unique for once. The points he made were valid, money could become a character in GTA V - or a persona of each of the 3 characters considering they all have unique bank accoun...
I hope it ties into one of their "random" missions that you can activate simply by stumbling upon it at the right time. Like some crazy thief's hideout?... Or a meth lab with Breaking Bad references?... Or, maybe an ex-assassin living out his last days in a shed, who gives you his leftover contracts, and all his ex-targets are now old people because of how long he's been atop Mount Chiliad.
How's all that for crazy?
Because any question we don't already know the answer to, Rockstar wouldn't have answered :o)
The media embargo process is tightly controlled. They know exactly what they can/can't say. Look what happens when hip hop artists leak details on in-game tracks and German e-commerce sites post the "PC Version". The interwebs blows up.
R* knows they can squeeze more money out of this PR effort by funneling the followers down a predefined path....
"That's not censorship... THIS is censorship!" ~ Crocofilter Fundee
People on N4G just read the headlines and jump to conclusions.
This could be the longest leap I've seen in a long time: "Rockstar Games and Sony Computer Entertainment announced at E3 that Grand Theft Auto V will be features in an exclusive PS3 console bundle that would be available day and date with the game. This isn't exactly and indicator on the quality of the gameplay, but it does speek volumes about which piece of hardware the developers have been working w...
That would be cool. It would be crazy if you could watch TV or go to a movie theater in real life.
Hahaha... very good point, I read so far down thinking that same thing at every comment.
People just want to complain I guess.
