@ Zod18 - That was hilarious.
Congrats on the 100% completion and good luck on the job hunt!
You people are too much... haha, whining about how "2 weeks" is enough time to build a streamlined multiplayer experience for a record breaking game that sold far more copies and has far more to offer than any of the other developers you previously mentioned.
They don't owe you, or anyone else, anything.
I agree 100% w/ Dfooster - once this blows over, you'll be ...
Do you realize if they sold a billion copies, TakeTwo would have made approx. $66,000,000,000 in revenue?
They made a billion, they didn't sell a billion copies.
How did you get more Agrees than Disagrees? Haha. That makes me want to delete my N4G account.
I agree w/ FunkMacNasty - not sure what you were expecting LonDonE. Have fun w/ BF4!
US MURICANS DON'T NEED SLEEP! WE LIVE ON FREEDOM AND BEEEEEEER!
Hey Big_B0SS...
You are so far from being accurate that I actually winced in pain when I read your comment. WTF are you talking about? "Glitch fest" and "Microtransactions". .. this is what R* "gets a free pass" on?
A. It is far from a Glitch Fest - I honestly can't believe how smooth the single player game is considering the ambition of the project
B. Have you even seen the microtransactions in... ummm... a...
Yessir.
@ -Foxtrot
Unfortunately, no beta test can emulate the sheer volume of server bandwidth that they are facing. They don't want to "overbuy" servers just to make sure this is smooth on Day 1, they want to make it as efficient as possible. Not necessarily to avoid buying servers/bandwidth, but in order to ensure stability no matter what kind of hardware is behind it.
There's only so much they can do. If we had to pay a monthly fee for GTA Onli...
@ wtopez - Nice writeup, helpful to see a list of the current $1,000 rig based on real prices.
Glad you are here to administer definitions to an endless debate. Next time I'll be sure to run my OBVIOUS generalizations and my admittedly flawed arguments (see #12.1.1) by you before I post them.
Your comment, where you "quoted" me by the way, wasn't actually anything I wrote: "But CoD is not "every single linear singleplayer game ever."" Yeah, no.
You are correct about my insulting label re: CoD Multiplayer vs. Singl...
No, I misspoke, they are gamers... just not very bright gamers. If you can play fetch with a dog forever, I assume that the participation in endless repetition (CoD is the real target of my insult) may have a correlation with questionable IQ scores. That's beyond my opinion however, this is purely a groundless assumption. So, you are right Tctczach.
However, when it comes to people complaining about GTA Online vs. me complaining about their complaints? I beg to differ. Th...
This article was silly. It didn't confirm anything.
However, I've posted this in other spots to mixed feedback - but I'm noticing two extremely annoying trends:
1. The judgement of the micro-transactions... we get it, you aren't happy, but, chill the f&%^ out and wait to play it before you judge. I bet $500,000 (in-game money) that it will not sway the balance or make it a "pay to win" system. You are either good, or bad, no amo...
Good thing MatrixMan stepped in to eliminate any individual opinions. That was a close one!
It was pretty bad, but, it could have been MUCH worse. Particularly considering how the scene ended...
The media should listen to the older Wu-Tang albums, listen to the proposed torture techniques from them in the 90's, and be thankful Rockstar didn't include anything like that.
Well, you can buy the game at your local store, pause life, replay the trip to the mall, and then you will have expanded your game library for free!
Well, that kind of takes the fun out of it, doesn't it?
As an online advertiser/marketer - I love how this is yet another article intended only for link bait, and the author/website is being financially supported by a MASSIVE GTA V takeover/banner ad campaign.
The irony is brilliant. If R* hadn't broken every sales record in gaming, they would probably pull their ad campaign for this article.
If people don't like GTA V... or don't want to play it... they won't. They don't need someone to give...
I'm all for brainstorming new ideas my friend... but... wow. You went above and beyond the scope of reality! The development time required for some of these would be massive.
Your ideas are for future game engines that have no boundaries on what the player does, and they almost require virtual reality for such detailed actions.
Furthermore, some of your ideas are so twisted, you may be on a watch list now.
"I would like to dress up...
Going to try it with a semi-truck and detach the trailer in mid-air.
I normally hop into the comments to defend Rockstar... but, wow...
This is a BAD character creation feature. At least have a mini-game where you can control your Grandparents banging away on each other and high scores allow you to add bonus "hours" to traits such as sleeping, sitting on the couch and partying... wait, what!? Yeah, that is all pretty silly too.
