LOL @ Modern Crapfare single player "incredibly awesome!!!". That was such a disjointed letdown that it isn't even funny as a joke.
So since you have a job (like most of the people in the world, mind you, you make it sound so special), you like to get less than your money's worth?
Well, more power to you I guess, there are people that use bills to light their cigars after all.
For me this is a pass. 6 hours of sub-hd mediocrity when I can have better games that will last me much longer for the same price? no thanks.
It's actually really fun even for an usually hardcore simulation racer like myself. While being arcade-ish is nowhere easy. It actually requires quite some lightning-fast reflexes
What's left is a good 80% of cheap, low-budget-low-quality productions and a vast minority of actual good games.
Gotta have a giggle at the number of Pokemon, Digimon, whatever-mon games you listed.
Yes, if you like games for kids, then the DS is the portable console for you, hands down :D
It's funny how the list you posted has a very, very low average quality. Tons of showelware, tons of shoddy rehashings (like the horrible lunar rehashings, guess what? the only real lunar portable game is on the PSP).
Unfortunately for the nintendo fanboys, more or less all the...
You know, if review scores are your thing (and anyone that knows more than nothing about games, also knows that review scores are not exactly the best way to judge games, expecially Japanese games), metacritic is available to everyone, and has a nice, confortable search function.
@catch let us see.

If it quacks like a duck, looks like a duck and smells like a duck, I'm sorry, it's a duck. No matter how much people that "gotta catch 'em all!" bend over twice in order to try and validate their litt...
Crisis core is an awesome game. The world Ends with you is nice, but the story is a little flat, the characters aren't that good (which is really a bad flaw for an RPG) and ultimately it's not as good as many RPGs on the PSP.
@deadreckoning666: if you find that prime example of repeatitiveness and flat gameplay that's pokemon "addictive", and you're more than 15 years old, seriously mate, I pity you.
Yes, and you'll list 1% of good games and 99% of showelware for kids.
excuse me? The DS has the most/best RPG? yeassure.
Persona 3 Portable
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona
Lunar Siver Star harmony (best portable RPG of all times)
The original Final Fantasy Tactics (that's better than the sequel)
Valkyria Chronicles 2
Hexyz Force
Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition
Final Fantasy II Anniversary Edition
Final Fantasy VII Crisis core
Final Fantasy Agito XIII (this one will come, but guess what, it ain't c...
Inflation? Then wonder how other publisher can afford keeping their prices under $50?
There are plenty great PC games out there, with amazing replay value and multiplayer.
The game can be as great as you like, but that's no reason for publishers to make us pay for royalties that they're not shelling out.
It's really that simple, and bending over because "waaaah! it's starcraft!" will only be damaging on the long run.
Exactly, as I pointed out on my own post.

People may argue that the game will be great, and as such the price is warranted. But there are many great PC games out there, and they don't cost 60 bucks, as their publishers are dececent enough not to arbitrarily charge us for royalties they are not paying.
It's Modern Warfa...
Why is it any of your business? as long as they don't go out in the street harming real people (and due to the official statistics, they don't), it's their damn own business how they get off by themselves in their own bedroom.
And by the way, yes, they're judging "Japan" as a whole culture, as you can very well read in the pretty misinformed follow-up articles by CNN.
@freeblue: did I say that I wonder why the koreans hate the Japanese? I know history, thank you, probably better than most.
The fact that Koreans may have a reason that they think legitimate to hate Japan and the Japanese doesn't make sending a Korean to report on Japan a good idea. It's like sending a fan of Manchester United to report on Manchester City.
Also, your argument that such hate would be justified is pretty laughable. If we went by that, Italians should ...
To be honest the US is just the tip of the iceberg. Having traveled around quite a bit, I've seen very biased anti-japanese TV reports in most of the countries i traveled to and lived in. The western media in general relishes in showing off the most obscure and niche areas of the Japanese culture in order to twist them and portray them as perverted. Some asian countries are no different. Korea and china are the major offenders. There's few days in which you can't see some old school Japan-hat...
How comes I'm not surprised that Foxgod completely missed the point?
Given the flames on the forums, it pretty much was :D
The difference here is that the other "recent high profile exclusive" was around 9-10 hours, which is in the average nowadays, not to mention that Splinter Cell isn't really high profile.
I wouldn't go calling some sub-hd mediocre metal gear solid wannabe title "high profile".
